Definitely a textbook but also a great ready reference for any teacher librarians that are working with databases (should be all of you) and search strategies. Often the student is left to devise what works best regarding their research without having good skills and tactics that make for more effective searching. This book has ideas on increasing research effectiveness. More could be said about the technological world that students readily embrace and how it can be used even more effective given these strategies, but that is the role that a teacher librarian can fully embrace. The website is helpful, but definitely a companion component. Stick to the text more. The “additional resources” areas are good, but need to be more in tune with the significant issue of change in this field. Recommended.… (mer)
