A cute book that I read with MY third grader! Randall is the new kid at school and has all the worries about fitting in and being liked that are common with being the new kid. This book has a little of everything, a carnival, the Scarlet Pimpernel, and a monkey! And it was a bonus reading it on Earth Day as it has a cool tree theme too! Most importantly, my daughter enjoyed it, and I enjoyed reading it with her!

It was a sweet story, but the writing felt strange. I'm not sure how a kid would like it.

This book is about a young girl, Abby, who loves horses. She is learning to ride at a local stable, and her favorite riding horse lives there. His name is Griffin. One day Abby finds out that Griffin is for sale and convinces her parents to buy him. The book goes on to tell about how she learns to take care of a horse all by herself, and also touches on the subject of friendship when her best friend, Devon, is scared of Griffin and Abby must help her to overcome that fear. 5th-6th.
