The “Greatest Gatsby” by Eirik Gunmeny is certainly a book that will be enjoyed by everyone who loved Fitzgerald's “Great Gatsby.” While reading it, I was carried off to Long Island. To a world of legendary parties and a really fascinating character. I couldn’t help but seeing before my inner eye Robert Redford in his role as Jay Gatsby. But maybe that’s just me. There’s a lot to like about the book: It put modern aspects to the classic novel (for example a reference to Douglas Adam’s Hitchhiker Books), at parts it is critical about America’s lust for war, and it has some excellent description. That being said, if you are looking for werewolves this might not be the perfect choice for you. Yes, Gatsby is a werewolf - but he does not turn until three quarters of the book. If it were not for the title, the allusions to werewolves would have been too subtle for me. Maybe this was a deliberate choice by the author, so I won’t hold it against him. I am more a fan of Gatsby than of werewolves so I didn’t mind too much either. If it would have been a book about vampires (which I love!), I’d be very much disappointed on not having the vampire theme milked more. If you do pick up the book because you are a big fan of “The Great Gatsby”, you might find this book a delight – as did I.… (mer)

I genuinely enjoyed this book! Love triangles, "the one that got away," epic parties, werewolves, murder...what else can one ask for? This is a quick read, at only 150 pages- witty and funny throughout.

Book Description : F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic Jazz Age novel of lost love, wild parties, and the impossible promise of the American Dream the way it was almost certainly never meant to be: with mercenaries, shadowy government agencies, meditations on violence, death, and masculinity, and a much more rewarding love story for Nick and Jordan. Oh, and also? Secret international cabals of werewolf assassins.

Nick Carraway, a traumatized soldier trying to escape his past, moves to Long Island in search of a new – and quiet – future. Instead, he’s drawn into the increasingly tangled orbits of his cousin Daisy, lovelorn and imprisoned by her past; her husband Tom, a jackbooted corporate fixer; the alluring and sardonic Jordan Baker; and, of course, his neighbor Gatsby, a millionaire playboy renowned for his excess as much as the mysteries surrounding him. What follows is a stirring (and still surprisingly familiar) tale of romance, revelations, reefer, redemption – and revenge.

I absolutely love the original "The Great Gatsby". This version is so intriguing and eye catching it is hard to set down! It is everything you know about the original and also completely different at the same time.

The characters are a little slow at development but it's not so slow that you miss important aspects.

Who doesn't love werewolf assassin's?? Where Fiction meets Fantasy. It has just enough balance between the two genres to make all types of readers enjoy it.

Definitely recommend you pick up this book when it releases in April of 2021!

I didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought I might. It was just a bit weird. I got through the first few chapters, but could not complete the book.
