mystery writer Vicki Lane on Thursday, June 5th at Noon. Lane's new book,
entitled In a Dark Season, came out last week.
Lane is the author of the Appalachian mystery series featuring Elizabeth
Goodweather on ... (mer)her western North Carolina farm. Like the previous books in the
series ( Signs in the Blood, Art's Blood, and Old Wounds), In a Dark Season is
set in the fictional mountain community of Marshall County,
For Elizabeth Goodweather of Full Circle Farm, still a newcomer after more
than twenty years, one terrible glimpse ignites a mystery that reaches back
years in the community, drawing together dozens of seemingly unconnected
lives.
Crouched on its ledge above the historic Drovers' Road, the house at Gudger's
Stand has witnessed many a dark and bitter deed. When a new friend of
Goodweather leaps from the upper story of the old building, Elizabeth and
Phillip, already tangled in the problems of their own off-and-on relationship,
are drawn into a web of long-kept family secrets. Brooding madness, mountain
magic, and a tale of bewitchment and betrayal in a by-gone time all come
together in this fourth installment of the Elizabeth Goodweather mystery
series.
During the informal luncheon, Lane will read from the book and take questions.
She will also be available to autograph books.
City Lights will provide a light catered lunch for attendees who pre-order one
