Om mig Thirtysomething SAHM with not enough reading time.
One room still to tackle; boxes at my parents' house to come over soon. Some tweaking of editions and manual entry still required on the existing data.
Om mitt bibliotek HUGE. You may think that there are a lot of books in a public library, but that's just peanuts compared to space. Er. Well. Something like that. And my parents have far more than I do, they just haven't catalogued them all yet...
There's some university set reading, some comfort reading, a lot of parenting and pregnancy books, a good handful of craft books (knitting and cross-stitching), not nearly as many cookery books as I'd like, and a good selection of reference. The collection grows on a weekly basis, though.
There are no 'wanted', 'borrowed', or unowned items on this list. I have wishlists on Amazon and ThingsILove; titles I have lost (had stolen, in many cases) or sold would take up space and make searching my existing library even harder. If I haven't physically found the book in the course of my cataloguing, it doesn't get listed (even though I know I own or once owned a copy of it...).
Wishlist for anyone who trawls charity shops as regularly as I do and is interested in swapping finds: any second-hand (even tatty) Wodehouse other than the Psmith novels; Dirk Bogarde's Backcloth, Cleared For Take-Off, A Short Walk From Harrods, West Of Sunset; any Armada Pony books (even duplicates); David Nobbs' The Better World Of Reginald Perrin (particularly the tv-tie-in edition with Leonard Rossiter on the cover). Ta.

I have just been having a browse through your library as I noticed we shared quite a few. Not that that's surprising when you have such a wonderful collection of books. You must live in a mansion to have all those books lol! I know once I've read mine they usually move out.

On your profile it says you are looking for some books to trade or track down and I thought you might like to know about Book Barn Books in Somerset. I think they advertise themselves as Britains largest second-hand and discount bookstore so you should be able to find them on the internet.
The reason I suggest them is that I bought all three Reginald Perrin books from them for about five pounds (in total, not each) and they all have the Leonard Rossiter covers. I'm reluctant to split the set, otherwise I would swap the one you are looking for. But at the time I bought them (about a year ago) they did have a few of them in stock so you might get lucky if you try them now.
Reggie Perrin is one of the funniest comic characters and the first book is my favourite of the three. It's very surreal. Not many books have lines like 'There couldn't be that many lorries shaped like jellies' or 'August came in like a leaping gazelle and went out like a pregnant ant-eater.'
Anyway good luck with the search and please feel free to say hi anytime. I'm going to add you to my interesting library list too. Take care, Jody

Have been havering about adding my dvds but notice you have included them. Hum. Maybe a project to stop me from buying more books for a while?
Best wishes from velvetrabbit

I was just (rather belatedly) tidying up my profile page and I noticed an old message of yours mentioning Difford & Tilbrook.
I take it you know there`s a proposed Squeeze reunion in November ? I`m not sure how interesting it will be though, it sounds like it`ll be Difford, Tilbrook and a bunch of session musicians. (Oddly,Chris Difford has said he didn`t know where to contact Keith Wilkinson to invite him. However,my spies are everywhere and I happen to know that`s not true).
We won`t be going to see them ourselves, which normally would be a disappointment. However, the reason is, we`re expecting our first child in November, so missing the odd band doesn`t seem too important !
Best,
Nick

Did you ever read Fall on Your Knees by Ann-Marie MacDonald? Two of her multidimensional characters, Lily and Francis play with dolls named Diptheria Rose and Scarlett Fever and feed them blancmange. They also comfort each other during times of distress with blancmange.
Excellent book when you get a chance! Nice to see you in the Red Room, by the way!
