Om migWhen I click the heels of my red slippery socks, LibraryThing is where I am. More specifically though, home is in the Hogwarts Express group where I spend most of my time here and which influences crazy things like this. I'm a twenty-six-year-old who loves nothing more than to either read or miss reading from chatting away with the wonderful people I've met here. I can't really pick a favorite genre because I enjoy many of them. I will enthusiastically dig into books to reorganize or reshelf them, feeling a bit silly after and as though I enjoyed it a bit too much. Tagging is my friend. So was this little guy for seven years. Rowling wasn't kidding about that being a magical number.

K! I just opened the presents from you. Thank you so much. They are all perfect. Also I loved the card and what you wrote inside. You had me choked up. Every thing you did was so thoughtful and kind. It is so funny that we got each other. I am glad that you liked your presents. I tried to think hard about what you said you liked before I made the earrings and I am glad you are enjoying wearing them. I hope the hat fits right. I am sorry I didn't make one for you but I just walked in to that one.

Thank you again, I am so glad you are my friend. Happy Christmas! Maren
Hi Kerian, I'm glad she is reading it. It is not what I would call an enjoyable read, but it is a good wake up call for teens to think about where their choices can lead them.

My December has been so busy, I can't believe it is already here. I hope you are able to work something out for Christmas day. If I was in your position I would try and defer it to another day.
Hi K,

Just wanted to say I agree with CBley in the good news/bad news thread about picking a different day for Christmas. After I got married we used to kill ourselves every year spending Christmas eve with my family and then driving 5 hours on Christmas morning to spend Christmas day with my husband's family. Eventually we realized we could make full use of the "12 days of Christmas" which is the period between Christmas and January 6th (Three Kings Day/Epiphany/Little Christmas). As long as we celebrated with each family somewhere within that period, we were fine and our families were happy. :o) I also used it as a way to spread out the gift giving for my kids, since they tended to get overwhelmed by our very generous families when they were younger!

Enjoy Christmas however and whenever you want to celebrate it!
hi k! yep im in the dr!! yay! i left the states on the 20th of nov but i will be back in time for christmas. the reason for the trip is entirely for pleasure, thankfully!

yep i lost my job in sept but i've grown used to the idea. it was for the best because i was getting comfortable there and i would have hatted to have stayed with that company for 20 years. perish the thought!

i called you a few times but youve totally blown me off, thus im REALLY REALLY mad at you. im skidding. i'm not mad i know you have a life now and it makes me glad to think that you are off having adventures and going to school and working.

i'm seriously considering going to cali in the new year. i'll eventually have to get a new job some where. gah! i can't wait. being broke is too difficult for someone like me. you know i'm terrible with money, lol.

yes some effer stole my book, man! i had to go out and buy new ones. but no worries i will repurchase Fire Study, which dude i'm telling you is part of a really really great series! check it out, k. the first book is poison study by maria v. snyder. hope you can get it and enjoy it.

ok dude i gotsta go! take care and much love to ya!!!
The cover of the 7 Realms book looks a lot like the cover from the Heir series. I wonder why they did that. Oh well, I still can't wait to read it!
Thought you would enjoy that one!

And please, no toothpaste. All those orthodontist and dental appointments we've had, I'm up to my eyeballs in trial size toothpaste tubes. Someone *coughcoughSierracough* seems to enjoy taking the free samples. :o)
Hi K. Thanks for the tip. I must think of a good question to post. Another favorite author of mine is coming to Columbus but, alas, I cannot go that night!
Oh, goodness, Miles LOVES to run!! He has learned to recognize running clothes so when he sees us putting on the gear he starts to get excited. Most days I take him about 3 miles. He has never acted sore and is always eager to go out again and I want to keep it that way. I don't want him to push himself too far, which he is apt to do as a puppy.

Just the title of Chima's new book is enough to make me want to read it! And if that wasn't enough, the series title The Seven Realms makes me want to start the series even more. I liked her other books enough to read this one without knowing exactly what it is about. I'm glad you brought it to my attention! If you get to it before me, let me know what you think.

The new furniture is so great! Every time I walk by it I smile. The couches are a medium-deep brown. Not quite so dark as chocolate brown, more like a dark dusty brown ... if that makes sense. I'm pretty sure I want to put blue in the room too. I'll probably do something interesting with the walls involving light brown and blue. I put texture on the dining room walls and that was fun, so I'll have to think up something different to do with the living room walls. Normal just doesn't suit me. ;)

I'm off to have a nightcap of brownies and ice cream. Have a lovely evening! :)
Hey K,

I'm glad everything is OK and your sister is safe. I'm sorry I wasn't on FB most of the day. That must have been so scary for your family.

I send you {{{hugs}}} for everyone. I am so sorry you all had to go through such a frightening ordeal.

Peace,
Cristina
Thanks! It was just a quick sketch because I couldn't remember when she was leaving. I think Wednesday is the day.
Hi K!

Thanks for the recommendations. I actually had scrambled eggs when I came home from yoga and a couple of protein shakes to keep my energy going. Where the teeth were extracted I don't really hurt, it's more that the rest of my teeth feel sensitive for chewing. Is that normal? This was actually also the first time I was ever given novacaine as well. I didn't know that I would hurt from where the needle went in once the anesthetic wore off. My week of firsts, I guess.

On the plus side, maybe I'll drop a few pounds from the whole experience. :o)
YOU'RE GOING BACK TO SCHOOL??? AWESOME!! good for you k!

Since when is muscle in a guy a bad thing? lol I get it Henry is supposed to be thin but come on!! its Eric Bana!! Eric Bana!!!
Greetings! It's good to see you back on HE from time to time. Sorry about all your computer issues. You are missed!

I'm hoping to have your curtains in the mail within the next week. My apologies for taking so long! I never cease to be amazed at how many things can come up to interrupt my plans. But eventually it all works out!
Oh, K. I'm glad things are looking up.

Have you seen the trailer for 'The time Traveler's wife"????? OMG I can't wait!!!! I can't wait!!! I love that book! I know that the movie will make me desolve into tears at the theater tho, so that's really bad, but I really want to see it as soon as it comes out.
Hi, K! I am much better. I just have an anoying cough that wont go away! I hope that you are well and that things at work are cool.
Hey K. thank you so much for checking on me. I'm better now. back at work. ugh. any hoooo... thanks.
Hi Kerian!
Yes, things do get a bit exhausting occasionally, but mostly I'm used to the rhythm of my life at the moment, and as you say, with the trip coming up it will all be worth it. and I can sleep once I'm on the plane!
Hope you're keeping well, lovely lady.
N
xx
I feel like I should know this, but I don't, so here I am! Do you have one window or two in your room? Just wanted to make sure before I cut anything! :)
Hey Kerian,

Unfortunately I don't really know of any books on video done in ASL except a few short stories and fairy tales done for very small children. I have never found any YA or adult books done that way. I imagine if they exist they would be independently produced and likely enormously expensive. If you are looking to relearn some ASL skills or just want to practice some other options are youtube: several people sign the lyrics to popular songs and videos and if you already know the words to the song it makes it easier trying to learn to sign it, or there should be a list of Deaf social events online for your town. It's usually at a coffee shop or cafe and interpreters, ASL students and members of the Deaf community usually show up and everyone just hangs out drinking coffee and chatting. We have 1 or 2 a week at different places all over the Seattle area. I met some good friends going to those events.

Lemme know how it goes!
K I have no idea what you are blabbering about. Dude, I might have to go home open the book and see what Pam said because I made the mistake of not memorizing the whole book page by page.

OH OH OH!! Season 2 starts on Sunday!!! YAYAYAYA! I'm sooooo happy. I wish there was a True Blood party I was going to!
I read it k. I'm on my 41st book this year. Slightly less that last year. YOu?
In your Last Olympian tags, you have "Boos I own."

My home page tracks the tag "Percy Jackson," so that's how I noticed :)
You will love A Dirty Job: A Novel, Moore is hilarious and the novel is great!
I don't know, but probably somewhere near you would work. Isn't there a big movie theatre in that shopping center we went to?
Miss you too!

I could have used an extra hand to herd cats while I was cake decorating. ;o)

My yoga guru has a website now: http://diannbyoga.com/

Supposedly, I'm in one of the videos, but I'm too afraid to look at it yet. *blushing* I don't like to see myself on film. :oP

I wish your mom lots of luck and give you permission to look at the videos on Diann website. She is truly inspiring.

Yep; I make Mare watch them at least every other week ;) We saw the latest one when we went to see Star Trek on the IMAX screen - it was HUGENORMOUS and awesome, but kind of disappointing because most of the clips were in previous trailers already.

We'll travel to the south or east bay; we're not the kind of city-dwellers who believe the bridges hold one-way traffic :) A matinee with dinner afterwards would be great, and still give time for the furthest travelers to get home at a reasonable hour. Do you want to be the cat-herder and maybe email LG and me and anyone else so we can reply-all to discuss details? That might be easier than trying to chase comments... aglaia531@gmail.com

Yay, HP6 - FINALLY!
Hey, K! I got rid of the music player because a lot of the songs kept getting changed from the sources I'd chosen; I just don't have the time to do upkeep :)

Mare and I are going to go see HBP on opening weekend, but she knows I also want to see it the following weekend with you all! Is there a "central-ish" location that's been recommended for our crew yet?
HEGS ON A PLANE!!!! Dont get me excited, K. these people here actually expect me to work to day..... I think the flight is 5 hours. but it is 12 fake hours meaning, it starts at 6.20 pm on thurs and doesn't land till 6 am London time which is actaully 11 pm or so NY time. That is just setting a girl up for failure I think. If I don't have a least 10 minor disasters happen that day, then I'll be lucky.

HEGS ON A PLANE!!
K BABE!! I GOT YOUR PACKAGE!!!! THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!!
My library doesn't have late fees and don't start pushing for their stuff back until it's been about a month, so I'm not in a hurry. Whenever you get it is okay. Don't rush on my account!

Yesterday I spent some time in the hammock swing and Larry enjoyed the sunshine with me. Today it's raining, which is good, or I would have a very hard time staying inside to sew!

I'm glad your computer is working well again! A slow computer is so frustrating.
Serenity arrived from the library! If you're still interested in watching with me, let me know. Most evenings are good for me so long as the movie is over by 11 LT time.
*hugs* You are quite special yourself, K.

So far as lining, there are lighter fabrics for lining that wouldn't block out light so much as just make the back of the curtain white. Most curtains are lined at least for that -- so as not to have lots of colors showing through different windows from the outside. But of course I will do them however you want them! And I will feel free to take pictures. :)

I'll let you know as soon as dresses let up a bit.
There's not anything specific that I want to do or see...I lived about 1/3 of my life in CA, so...

Mostly I'm just looking forward to seeing you guys. I know that there's a breakfast planned for Sunday morning, but I don't know when. I'll see if I can find out and I'll let you know.
Hi K - It was really cool because my Aunt lives in Ohio and my parents went to visit her over spring break and she sent a big bag of books home for me because she knows how much I read! There were ARCs of The Strain (which I just started - very eerie so far!) and another one called The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane that looks really neat too! It will be fun to compare notes on The Strain after we finish and if you don't want to keep your copy, I'm sure someone else on the HE might want to read it too (if it's good...) It's going to be a little crazy to read the first book of a trilogy as an ARC though because we'll have even longer to wait for the rest of the series! Things are going well for me and hope you're having a happy spring too! el :)
Truly it would be my pleasure to sew up your curtains! The rest of April will be full of dresses but it will slow down to normal in May. Thanks for being concerned about my scheduling! You are always so considerate.

Sheets sound like a good idea actually! Would you like them lined so they are heavier and can block out more light when closed? I guess if you wanted lining I'll let you pay for the material (if you don't feel comfortable finding suitable lining, leave it to me), but don't feel like you need to pay me for the curtains themselves. I have a short list of people who get free services and you're on that list. :)
Hey! I saw you got material for curtains. If you don't want to hand sew them (I certainly wouldn't!!) I wanted to offer to sew them for you. I don't know how much fabric it is, and therefore how much shipping would be, but I am more than happy to sew them up for you.
Thanks! I can't believe it. I had the weirdest dreams last night - I think my brain was testing me! But at least tehy weren'tthe usual spider nightmares where I'm screaming all night!

Gosh, I keep having to look at the photos to prove to myself that it really was me holding Maggie (that's the name of the tarantula). Unbelievable!

And yes, a reread of CoS and a re-view of the film -scenes I haven't watched properly before!

Thanks for all the support!

xx
Sup Kerian, it's Cue, just checkin in on the HP crew that I used to talk to all the time. How are things going with you?
Thank you lovely! two hours before I leave the house...but I guess, by the time you get this message it will all be over! Ack!!
he really appreciated it K! Thanks again
Thx Kerian for that cute messge for jim. I forwarded it to him since he does check his email when he feels up to it. It was so nice of you
Hey! I have Serenity on hold at the library. It hasn't come in yet though and could take about a week. I'll check back in with you when it's here -- or let me know when yours arrives if you order it online! :)

I'm glad you liked Edward Tulane! I loved experiencing his journey from conceited, horrible self-absorbed rabbit to genuine, loving, giving friend. My favorite owners were the hobo and his dog. But the little girl's chapters are tear-jerkers. I loved Edward's conversations with the stars and my heart broke with his as time after time he was pushed along to someone else. The 100-year-old doll was such a wonderful way to bring hope back into Edward's very sad story. And of course meeting his original owner again was a lovely ending. I adore the poem at the very beginning too. So perfect for the book! I've read the book several times now -- usually when I'm exceedingly sad and want something that will be sad with me and then cheer me up. I hadn't thought about the story encouraging kids to be loving to their parents, but that's a good point. I broadened the story just to be loving, as Edward was not complete until he had opened his heart. It's easy to sit in a shell -- very safe. But that's not how we're made to live.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you about the book, but I wanted to have time to reply completely. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I know you understand the loveliness of others enjoying books you like. It never gets old!

Stay safe from earthquakes. You and your family are in my thoughts.
I did a combination of 5 different scents that made it smell like a tropical island in my apartment. The three-wick candles burnt pretty even, and I was quite happy with those. I'd gotten a $25 gift certificate to B&BW for my birthday and thought it would be a good idea to spend it on candles for Earth Hour. I'm not the biggest fan of their body washes and I don't moisturize. (Although I think I might go back and get that travel pack thing for my flight, that looked handy.) Anyway, they were having that 2/$20 sale and since there's no tax in my state, I was able to get the three votives as well. I actually still have $.50 on my gift card!
It was a votive. It wasn't too big a deal, I got it all cleaned up okay. Just a bit disappointing! I had three votives lit and two of the big 3-wick candles. The votives are all gone now (though the other two did manage to last the entire hour) and the other two still have plenty of burn time left.
Oh I am sorry to hear about your father and grandmother's health problems. These things are very difficult for everyone involved, so my thoughts are with you all.

My back has a little bit more movement in it today, so I'm sure I'll be back on top form very soon.

Must dash for now - have made a stoopid mistake on the computers at work (I'm useless with IT!), and am waiting to hear from Ticketmaster how to put it right!

Lots of love - I'll "see" you soon!

Hello lovely!

I'm fine thank you, (well, apasrt from the fact that my back has gone into minor spasm again today. Luckily I still have the pain killers the hospital gave me last time, so that's helping. I also don't want to complian as I know you've had far worse to contend with!.)

Only problem is that these past few days have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to come on LT properly. I'm pretty sure the rest of this week will be much calmer though, so I'll be in again probably tomorrow.

Do I gather things have not been well with you? Forgive me, I've not caught up on any threads yet. I hope you're ok though.

Would you mind giving my love to all the HErs, and save some for yourself. I'll be back soon!

N

Sorry about your family K! *Hugs* My best wishes for you and your family!

Ron
No offense Kerian, but which part of your news was the Good news?

And YIKES!
Now please tell me you know who Daniel and the Lion are.
David and Goliath?
Noah and the ark?

:o)
Hi Kerian! Thanks for remembering me and the Austen read! Go ahead with Persuasion because I have a lot of books lined up right now (I'm hoping to read Mango-Shaped Space next!) and we can try to read Emma together - maybe we can even get it going as an HE group read? Let me know what you think about Persuasion - Happy Friday and have a good weekend!! :)
I read Mr Darcy's Daughters years and years ago. I liked it, but I don't know anything about the rest of series.

Yeah, I did.....
Don't stress out girl! I think you have the same problem as me....I overanalize every little thing and think way too ahead into the future and freak myself out...By my experience just let everything flow and you will see that everything works out fine...Hope everything gets solved and you have a terrific day tomorrow...

Ron
Ooh, what can it be?!?!

*stares intently at mailbox*
Thanks K you're the best! Couldn't find it though...but it's ok..I'll use the dictionary online like I am already doing and that way I'm learning the definitions too :P I'm having a great day too :D

Ron
Hey K just saw the post about the spell checker and I would like to get one since sometimes I have to look for a word on the internet and having the spell checker will save me time....Hope you had a great day!

Ron
not far at all. I didn't read much this weekend.
*hugs*
Thanks, K. You're the best!
Hi lovely girl!

Busy week is going fine, but I'm sooooooooooooooooooo very tired!! I saw the most fantastic play last night, but it was emotionally very draining, which made me extra tired by the time I got home - then I got a text from my flatmate asking me to stay up to let her in because she'd lent her keys to our house guest. so I had to stay up past midnight, when all I really wanted to do was sleep!
Work is ridiculously busy today, but I'm determined to make the most of my lunch break! Bring on Saturday when I can lie in...

I hope you like Lost in Austen. If it is the dramatisation I'm thinking of, then it features the actress Gemma Arterton, who also played Tess in the recent adaptation of Tess of the D'Urbevilles, which was fabulous. Worth looking out for that too if you haven't already seen it.

Lots of love!

Naomi

Okay, it's final. Tomorrow (Thursday) 8:30 PM LT time in chat. "See" you then!
Okay, it looks like Thursday night should work for everyone. Foggi is working until 8 that night, so should we say 8:30 in chat (LT time)?
6:30 your time or LT time?
Wednesday's out because foggi is unavailable. I realize some of you don't know your schedules for next week yet, but how is Monday looking? Is there another date this week that would work for people? Thursday night? Friday night? I won't be available on Saturday.
Sounds great. I'll start reading it ( [The Lightning Thief] ) tonight.
Hey, I just called Borders and i shouldn't have a problem so long as I show up early on the 21st, which I will!!!!
Okay, I've gotten replies from the entire committee now and it looks like weekday evenings are generally good for everyone. How is this Wednesday at 7:00? If that doesn't work my second suggestion would be next Monday at 7:00. Thoughts?
K- Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if I can find some to try out.
Hi Kerian - welcome to the Green Dragon. :)

Bwahahaha....
Hi,

I am finding friends and i thought u to add as my frined....
I think I'm free. I really want to see bib!
WHAT??? OMG THAT IS HORRIBLE NUEWS. THAT'S WHAT I GET FOR BUYING THE BOOTLEG!!! ITS THE CURSE OF THE BOOTLEG DVD'S RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!
ACK! Elevator doors (and train doors, for that matter - really any automatically-closing metal doors!) are scary business; I'm so glad you're ok :)
Hi, K; thanks for checking in :) Mare and I will probably go see HBP the weekend it comes out (I know, I know, I tried to get her on board with the boycott, but she just wasn't having it!), but that's not to say we might not be up for going again the following week! We'll have to talk more as the date draws nearer...!

Fingers are doing ok; pretty sore today because work has been crazy and I've been typing up a storm, but overall, seems that the healing process is going well. Classes are good, though not as much fun as last semester... Ah well, guess they can't all be crazy interesting and full of great people :)

How have you been?
I did read Ella Minnow Pea. It is a fun book and a neat writing exercise - very clever. I miss everyone here too. I hope to pop in more now that I am done with trips to see family.

They did have glasses for Coraline which was very fun. I think you'll enjoy it when you get to see it.

I am glad you are doing well.

Maren
Hi K, I finally saw Coraline (in 3D no less) and loved it. I wondered if you had gotten to see it yet. Oh and I see you got Ella Minnow Pea- that is a very fun novel! Hope you are well, Maren
oh and goodby I must go meet my friend. bye bye!
ah, that was weeks and weeks ago, k. *pats k's head*

I'm reading:
Treasure Island, Huck Fin, Brisingr, Inkheart, and a Harlequin Presents.

sigh.

What are you reading?
I haven't started it. I'm making myself finish some of the other stuff I'm reading first. I can't wait!
No, thanks. I would love to borrow it but its just too much hassle for you. I'll just wait till it comes out. Thank you so much for offering tho. You know I really love that series. But I'm scared of messing your book up, its too precious.

ah, I forgot what else we were talking about. Hold on.

OH Yes! Kerian vs The Elevator of Doom!!!I take it that I can safely bet that this will be the last elevator you ever try to wrestle to a stop, huhh?
I'm sorry I'm soooo sorry that you were scare and semi injured I'm really sorry because I have actual tears in my eyes. That has got to be the funniest shit you've ever said to me. I can only imagine. Ok, next time catch the next elevator. people do that on the train too, they try to stop the door closing with their arms and yeah, that doesn't sound wise to me.

Im sorry you were scared and I'm sorry I laughed at you. *hug*
Kerian, what in the world are you on....(he he he).... about?

I said I wouldn't put it past you to 4 star and catalogue a book that a)you don't own b) haven't read.
I wouldn't put it past you, tho.
Listen, pal. you gave a book that doesn't come out till MARCH 10 (!!!!!) four stars??? you almost gave me a heart attack k! I thought I had missed the release! I can't wait to read that book. wait. unless you have an AR??
No, I'm going to see it. The fashion looks DEVINE!!!!
Hey HAUNTED IS OUT???? OMG HUNTED IS OUT???
I've only read three books in the series:
Confessions of a shopaholic
shopaholic takes manhattan
shopaholic ties the knot

there are others in the series but like I said I haven't read them.

Even without seeing the movie I can tell that they changed A LOT from the book. I don't like that.
Ah, I see! The DO hate me!!!

Well I did read the book back in 2004, or something and I'm kinda wondering why Rebecca has an american accent when she is supposed to be English. And why oh why does she live in New York, whe in the first book she lives in LONDON!!! Sometimes I really hate books that get turned into a movie.
k, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I really want to.

People hate me right? Tell me the truth.
Hi K! Happy Friday! (That sort of rhymes....)

So I finished Sickened earlier this week and thanks again for mentioning it. It was a really powerful story and I think the part about her adult life and coming to terms with what had happened to her was almost more intense than her narration of the earlier stuff. Part of me wants to read a sequel or a follow up to know what happened with her bringing charges against her mother as I imagine that might have been a huge challenge and an impacting story to share too. I have a few more library books to get through but then I definitely look forward to digging into Mango Shaped Space. Have a lovely weekend and Happy Valentine's Day too!

:)
Hey, K, I'm going to a pagan con this weekend, so I'll be offline. Should be back around Tuesday.
Dear Dear Kerian, I have missed you too. How are you doing? I love your new photo. I have been well but overwhelmed with work and health stuff and travel. I actually get to see my mom and other sister and her husband and my niece this week so that will be nice. Did you get to see Coraline yet? I think we will try and see it with my niece.

Hope you are well. Maren
Thank you k. That is a very sweet thing for you to say. I hope that they can find him a home. Turbo is not a puppy. But he has many good qualities in his favor. I wish I could have kept him! I'm sure he'll find a home. He is such a special dog!
hi i dropped him off at a shelter. I hope that he is ok too :(
Hi K - thanks for letting me know. It sounds like it must have been a scary accident to have done damage like that.
Mare's ok, I've got a broken finger and another one's sprained, plus a bad bump on my head, but no concussion. Could have been much worse, but typing is no fun!!!
perty flowers!

the pic is for a book I'm reading. Its been made into a movie but I couldn't find the book cover online so I used a movie poster. The book cover is a little less sinister than the movie poster.
it's not easy, but I exercise great restraint with sock dreams, mostly because it adds up so fast. The prices are amazing, but I can still have a hundred bucks' worth in my cart before I've shopped half of the categories! Just watch the sale and clearance - lots of colors get cycled out, and they want to sell them off to make room in the warehouse...
Thanks for checking on me! The power went out again right after I made that last post. Actually, it's still out. We're over at a friends house doing laundry and stuff. We were'nt even able to get out until yesterday. This is the first time I've been out since Monday afternoon. I'll post more in HE.
Sorry to torment you with ideas of smoothies on a day you couldn't have one! I made a mango/strawberry yesterday. Today I had mango/blueberry. I love the taste of mango but don't like its texture, so it's great to put in smoothies where I taste it but it's all blended up, weird texture gone!

Sounds like you need someone to custom-make your sweaters so they are small enough! ;)

For scents, I chose a vanilla sugar spray, moonlit path (or something??) lotion, fresh pineapple soap, and sea cotton? ... sea spray? ... sea something soap. I almost chose a sweet pea lotion, but went with the moonlit one because I've had sweet pea and had never had the other. I felt like being experimental. Obviously, none of the scents really match! But I liked them all. My very favorite ever was toasted hazelnut, but it was discontinued a long time ago. :( I haven't found anything I like quite as much, but plenty that are still lovely!
Ah! OK. I thought you meant backpacks in general are criminal. :o)
I had to come tell you, I went grocery shopping and got a bunch of things to use in smoothies. Previously, I only had blueberries and bananas. I now also have strawberries, pineapple, and mangoes. I can't wait to make one today! The possibilities are endless!

Also, I went to B&BW to exchange Christmas presents. I just wanted different scents. I hate returning things and I just kept wishing I could go to K's store to do the exchange. But the people were really nice (somehow I expected them to be horrible) and it was super-easy to switch scents. I still would have loved to come to your store though!

Have a lovely day! :)
There are 14 legs on the bus. All the rest are in the backpacks. Incidentally, there are 1,372 legs inside the backpacks, unless some of those cats were 3-legged and you didn't tell me. :o)

BTW, what is criminal about the word backpacks? Or is it that criminals are attracted to backpacks?
Morning! Just wanted to let you know I received my book in the mail yesterday! I'm rushing through my current book so I can dive in and read it!

Hope yours comes soon!
We love squirrels too. That's why there are so many around our house. ;o) But as Bruce Coville said in Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher, "You can't blame a cat for being a cat."

I think male cats just find Dusty so attractive they don't care whether she's fixed or not! He does rub our legs like crazy and he stands up on his hind legs to try to rub your hands. Marina was kind of torn between sympathy for the squirrel and guilt for yelling at the cat. He disappeared for the rest of the day after that. He's back now, hiding in the crawl space under our kitchen (it was an extension, many animals have used it for shelter). We have about 3 or 4 inches of snow right now and it's still falling.
Knick Knack will stay with the name Knick Knack. And she might stay, period. It's been hard finding her a home. At least she gets along with Hobgoblin and Merlin.

We also have a feline stalker. He's a black and white tuxedo tomcat who fell in love with Dusty. Dusty won't give him the time of day. We made the mistake of calling him Romeo. Now Romeo has been trying very hard to win our love and get in. 8-O We opened the basement for him, because it's been frigid, but we can't let him in the house. Especially because he isn't neutered. Today Marina was shocked when he caught a squirrel. She yelled at him to drop it and instead he ran off with it to a neighbor's yard. I tried to explain that there was a reason he looked so well fed for a stray...

I would say the first two books in the Sword of Truth are about one and a half times the size of the paperback version of Goblet of Fire. They are way to big to be on my 50 book challenge list. So I think I'm going to wait to read those for after I win my competition!
Shipped this morning, so be on the lookout!

*smiles mysteriously*
Of course!! thank you so much!!

xx
Thanks! I'm happy dancing too!

I'm so sorry you aren't able to come this time around. We'll be missing you the whole time, and There will always be a bed ready for you in the UK - WHENEVER!

Big, big love to you

Hi k,

I'm jhaving a deliciousl relaxed weekend so far. Going to try and catch up on exercise and reading :-)

The phoenix design I have found is a photograph online, which I have saved to my laptop. I'm sure I could take it to a parlour to have them transfer it - I just haven't quite decided where I want it yet either. My others are all in places where they wouldn't be on show in a formal setting - say wearing an evening dress or something - so I want it somewhere discreet, but I'm running out of places!

I'll think of somewhere!

Lots of love,
N
xx

P.S. How are your ears now? Have the drops been helping?
It's great of you to subscribe to my blog when it is as yet nothing! I appreciate the support! Hopefully it will motivate me to make it into something faster than I otherwise might have. Were you laughing as I changed my colors every 3 seconds? :)
You are so sweet! Thanks for asking how I'm feeling. I'm starting to feel better. I don't want to get too detailed (because it's gross!), but let's just say I don't have to carry a box of kleenex wherever I go. I had some major allergy issues and I think a common cold on top of that. It actually felt like an ear infection with the flu, but I had a flu shot a little while back. Any way, all my.... snottiness was making me sick to the stomache. That part is past too. Things still don't taste right, but hopefully the will soon.
Thanks again for asking about me. That was very sweet of you.
{{hugs}}
There is a show on The CW network called Legend of the Seeker. I like the show but the acting is all you can expect on a CW show. So I looked it up and found out it was based of of The Sword of Truth series. I got the first and second book in the series (Eleven total in the series) for $5 at a local used bookstore!

lol They may not litteraly be as big as a cat but they are definitley the biggest books I will have read (when I get around to it).
I am expecting that book also. It is my first Early Reviewer book so I'm a bit excited!

Thanks for the good luck I'm going to need it. For some reason I decided to add some of The Sword of Truth books to my count, those things are bigger than most cats!

I see that you also read Sunshine by Robin McKinley, I bought that book sometime ago but haven't had the chance to read it yet. How was it? Would you recommend it?

-Calyn
Hello Kerian, I noticed in one of the forums you were chosen to receive 'Never Tell a Lie' for Early Reviewers and I was wondering if you received your book yet?

-Calyn
Thanx. Thats why I love it too. I found it on photobucket.
Thanx!!!!!! Thanks again for helping me through it.
HEY!!!!!!!!!
I haven't read it yet. I have so much stuff on my tbr its sad. scary. and unhealthy. gah. My inability to spell borders on the illiterate.
Kerian, Hi! I am well and I hope that you are too. Dude I already have Lord of misrule. You know sometimes I don't cataloge stuff right away. I've had it for about a week. I'm sorry I didn't send you anything for christmas, when your gift was splendid! Thank you!I was a way from home for most of December. I went to visit my mom in Jersey.

anyhoo its really great to hear from you. I dropped my phone two weeks ago and it hasn't been the same. sigh. Its always something...
Hi K just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year and may 2009 be full of love, blessings and books for you and your loved ones...and may everything be better in 2009!!!

P.S. keep updating your blog with your great reviews ;)
From V.C. Andrews the only series I could find in spanish were the Dollangager series and I read all of it and suffered a lot with it but enjoyed every minute of it...

About Inkheart I think I just put 3 stars because I had too high hopes for the book (I bought it in another city in my country just coz I heard about it here on LT and saw that the movie was coming out) and I think I expected more from it...but I will absolutely finish the series(I try to finish every series of books I start), I even bought books 2 and 3 through internet and a friend who went on vacations to the states is bringing them to me in like 2 days (yayyy) and I'm a little bit worried coz in the movie theater chain that we have here Inkheart movie is not listed as the upcoming movies...and I SO wanted to see it on the big screen, but I will have to wait...speaking about the movie, did you imagine the characters like the actors portraying them on the movie?? coz I imagined Dustfinger and Capricorn in a different way...and I just was curious what you thought about it...and I'm aware that the movies are NOT the books but just wondering.

And I have read the 2007 reviews from the books but there are no reviews lol I started reading your blog from the beginning to the end...
Hi K! I just wanted to let you know that I'm reading your blog and loving the reviews on the books, I think we have pretty much the same taste in books and I like the fact that I can get someone's point of view on the books before I rush to get them...(little bit of book shophaholic problem but let's skip that part)...So again congrats on the blog and I'm close to finishing catching up with it, after I finish it I will give you some of my feedback if that is ok with you, buh-bye :)
Thanks for the information! You are helpful as always! Since you said there isn't a date to return things by, I think I'll wait until the Christmas mania has died down a bit and exchange after that. I don't like the crowds, and I'd hate for them to be out of something I really wanted. Thanks again for the help! You're the best!
I know, crazy, right? I've been spending so much time with the group and then when I clicked on "my groups" and HE didn't show up, I realized I'd never "officially" joined. And I wanted to post a new topic--it may seem like I'm kidding in that question, but I really do want opinions from people. I'm planning to move and I can't decide where I should move to! I realize I'm lucky to be able to pick just about anywhere in the country I'd like, but I'm overwhelmed trying to decide. (And despite the responses so far, I'm pretty sure Australia is not *really* an option.)

I noticed you recently added Mistress of Mellyn to your library; that's one of Victoria Holt's I particularly enjoyed. Hope you do, too!

Elizabeth
Greetings! Just a silly question: Is Bath & Body Works pretty lenient about swapping products? I got a couple things for Christmas that aren't my favorite scent -- too flowery -- so I wondered whether they would let me just get the same thing in a different flavor for not too much hassle.
Hello I just stopped by to tell you to breath and count until ten and don't waste more of your breath and time thinking of those rude customers and I left you a comment on the rants thread and then I thought of leaving you a comment over here :D and I hope this improves your day even a little bit :$
Hi Kerian, Thank you for thinking of me. I am afraid I have been a bit swamped lately with work and rehearsals and I have barely had a moment to check in. I did get my elfster present sent out though. It is so nice of you to check in on me. How are you doing? I miss checking in all the time but there is no way I can read every thread any more. Wait do I hear you are a manager now? Congratulations.
Hi Kerian! Thanks for noticing my absence. I have actually been reading a little each day, just not everything and not much time to comment. I don't even start teaching skiing until Saturday, it has just been really busy at school. Conferences were last week and there is a lot going on getting ready for the holiday! If I can make it through the next 10 days (where I will only have one day off) then I will have five days off to really catch up. Of course, by then everyone on HE will be busy with Christmas stuff and there will be nothing to read :) I did manage to ship my Elfster gift today, so that feels like a step in the right direction. Well, I am off to read some thread. I hope you are adjusting well to your manager duties and that your sister is doing okay. Merry, Merry!
I am glad you and your family like the fudge! I've never heard of See's Etc, but I assume it's a candy store, so thank you for the high compliment! I'll write out the recipe for the PB so your grandmother can have it.

Usually for cards I prefer to paint a small picture or at least paint "Merry Christmas" or something, but then you would all still be waiting for me to finish cards because those take a day or two each. So instead I found fun paper and cut cards from the paper that I thought fit the person.

The HE is definitely a special place. And I love both brownies and cookies of all kinds, so long as they don't have any mint in them. *great hugs of your welcome* :)

Peanut Butter Fudge
1/2 c butter
2 c brown sugar
1/2 c milk
3/4 c creamy peanut butter
1 Tbsp vanilla
3 1/2 c powdered sugar

Line an 8x8-inch pan with foil. Set aside. Measure the powdered sugar into a large mixing bowl and set aside. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and milk. Stir frequently and bring to a full boil (a boil that won't stir down). Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter and vanilla. Pour over the powdered sugar in the prepared mixing bowl. Beat until smooth; pour into the foil-lined pan. Chill in fridge until firm. When firm, turn block out of the pan and remove foil. Cut into squares. The finished product does not require refrigeration. Store in airtight containers or in plastic wrap.
GUESS WHAT? I DIDN'T FINISH TBTB!!! HA HA HA!
omg everone knows about zazzle. well it is you. so I'm not surprised.
Not so many have asked that I feel overwhelmed. I can easily fit an order in for you too! :) Chocolate, PB, or both?
Thanks, K; I'm sure it'll go away in no time if I can just get some sleep! :)

And yes, Robert Pattinson was here at one of the malls or something. I heard about it after the fact, and I would NOT have gone even if I'd known in advance - there are very few things in the world that could compel me to deliberately join a throng of teenage girls!
I don't think anyone will mind K! ;o)
http://www.wesleytheowl.com/
That also links to the author's blog, where she apologized for making everyone sad! She sounds like a sweet person.

My migraine finally left. I think the weather stabilized, because we had some dark clouds in the area the past couple of days. And can you believe it? Tea! I forgot to try peppermint tea. Stoopid headache makes it impossible for me to think.

Yes, I think Knick-Knack is wending her way into our hearts. My husband is a sucker for orange cats and she's very affectionate, more so than Hobby. Hobby, btw, seems to think of her as a mini me. He's been showing her all sorts of tricks, like how to get into the dry food without permission, how to play with a crumpled ball, and how to climb up onto the refrigerator. :o)
Hehe! I'm fine. I'm just trying to joke about the gift-giving a little. And I'm getting over a two day migraine, so I'm probably a little punchy. :o)

Kitten is fine, but I'm worried that Hobgoblin may have adopted her. For some reason it's hard to push cats on people this time of year. :o) I'll have to take a picture again. We've been calling her Knick-Knack as it sounds better than Hey Kitten! and she likes to hang out on shelves. My last book (Wesley the Owl) made me reminisce about a couple of the kittens we lost to illness and I'm afraid that is making me a little more attached to this kitten. I think you would like the book. I swear, for about 95% of it I was laughing so hard! I got interested because she described CalTech as being as close as you could get to Hogwarts in real life.

Other than that, not too worried about my birthday as I'm occupied with cookie baking and house decorating. It is just a number, I just wish it were a smaller number. ;o)
Hi K!!!

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I do stay in the house a lot because at the moment I am unemployed again and I really don't talk to anyone but my aunt in RL lol...Most people tend to infuriate me. I am definately going to try the chamomile... Tom picked me up a tea called sleepy time and I believe it has chamomile in it. Thank-You for the suggestions!
Hi K!!

Just wanted to thank you for the message you left about my ER books - or lack of them! I told Abby, and she's written the first one off as a lost cause, but at the time of correspondence she was feeling pretty positive about the next one. However, that still hasn't arrived...

In a funny way, I hope the publishers haven't posted them at all rather than them just not reaching me. I'd hate to think that someone more easily mailable has missed out on getting books because they were awarded to me... if you know what I mean.... although, if the uk was a problem, they wouldn't show as available to UK members would they? Sorry - just subjected you to a LadyN train of thought special!!

Anyway, here's sending you lots of love from across the pond.

Depends on the movie. A two hour movie will finish around 11:30, unless we took a while to get started. I think we watched Return of the King and it was well after midnight when it was over.

I believe Princess Bride is under two hours, so it seems more like a possibility. I'll try!
Thanks K!
The district was actually very nice and gave the letter no problem, also putting all three of them down in case we need the letter for anything else.

Today I have to call the pediatrician's office to see if the form was signed and possibly go to the post office to hand in everything for the passport. It kind of depends on my husband. For a minor under 16 both parents have to be present or I have to bring a notarized letter from my husband that she's allowed to get a passport.

I love rules. :oP

Happy Day!
K, did you accept the invite? Because it's not showing.
Done
Oh and I'm sure you guys are all stoked about the Twilight movie too! Can't believe it comes out next week - it seems like we've been waiting forever! I'll have to pop in next weekend and discuss it with you guys! :)
Hi Kerian! I just passed the halfway point on my wordcount for NaNoWriMo so that's pretty exciting and I have popped in LT here and there and try to read a few HE threads whenever I can. I saw there's a new Gregory McGuire book out too and it made me think of you, are you planning to read it? Let me know what you think if you do! Thanks for saying hi and hope you're having a fab month!
l :)

p.s. Your profile pic is really cool!
I love the photo on your home page.
I was a bit teary reading Dewey myself. And we certainly should remember our pets -- they are incredibly important. I hope she lets you read it soon. You may be sad, but the book is an uplifting one -- you won't stay sad. ;)
Thanks so much! It's the big 2 6 !! Talk to you later 8) Mary

Here's the Terms page that talks about it. I read several threads, and most of the pro posters say that your account will only show the last 200 photos, but you can get it back by renewing. If an account is dormant for a long time (it didn't say how long) the account will be deleted.
Hey K. Kirby and I (yes that does sound weird) are great. I went ahead and paid for a 2 year Flickr subscription a couple days ago. I'm pretty happy because when I download my pictures it is usually tons of them. That's a good question about what happens when your subscription expires. I'll check it out.
Hi K,
Thanks for your thoughts. I'm doing OK. At least I'm getting to spend some time with the Puerto Rican uncles that I haven't seen in seven years. My Tio Sami (in the picture with my dad) is quite a character, I was glad the kids got to meet him, even if for a funeral. And I kid you not, Sierra went around the funeral parlor telling everyone she was made in Puerto Rico in Titi Carmen's house. We are an odd sort...

{{{hugs back}}}
Thanks K! She was going to be 2 in January... such a short life but like I said, it was no one's fault. It was just an accident, wrong place, wrong time, but I'll still miss her greatly. She made a huge impact on my life and I learned a lot from her.
Why don't I pick you up? I'll email you.
Hi K! Are we still on for this Saturday? Can't wait to see you.

Would it be easier if I pick you up at your house?
Hi K,

I just want to reiterate what JP has said below. I was going to offer the exact same advice, but she's beaten me to it. This isn't something you can do by yourself.
I think it's imperative that the appropriate authorities are involved, for the good of your sister's friend.

Thinking of you all,
N
xx
K, I don't think friend's and her brother's situation is an issue you can deal with on your own. If no one has called the authorities about it yet, I think it may be time. You can explain to them any fears you have of the child being punished because of your call, and tell them about what happened when the mother was confronted before. Try to get the backing of the parents who tried to talk with her the first time. If you are uncertain about taking this step, I urge you to read "A Child Called It". If you just want someone else to say you should call, then I'm saying you should call. But I think you know better than I what abuse looks like.

Let me know how it goes,
Cristina
K, thanks so much for everything... that is very sweet of you. You definatly gave me something to smile about. I will get through work, and I am working on finding another job... but this time I am not going to besilly and quit before I Have one...I am just going to have to suck it up and deal. I will be on more tonight mostly unless tom drags me out of the house lol... my nose has been in James pattersons WMC all week so he might kidnap me tonight KIK!
Where in the world can I find nail tips for my cat???? KIK
Haha I am collecting the V.C. Andrews Books. The Bookmooch cards would be neat haha. I figured that was you it would be to weird a coincidence for there to be two Kerians lol
Thanks angel.
Am now feeling much better, and was drugged up enough to cover the whole shift. I'm back home now with a cold pack on, and have timed the medication so I'll take the next lot of pain killers (three altogether!!) right before bed.
I guess hospital is the same here... but I know our health services are different, so not sure if things work entirely in the same way. We have our regular docotrs, but if they're closed or you can't get an appointment and you have to see someone right away, you can go to an NHS walk-in centre or a hospital Accident and Emergency (A&E) department. In my case, I always feel awful going to the A&E as I feel they should be dealing with life and death stuff. But my doctor told me to go so... I guess it's allowed if the Dr tells you!

Loved the spider repellent! You know, I never thought that stuff would work, but I found some in a shop here and so far (touch wood) we've had no visitors in nearly 10 months. HURRAH!!!

Glad things are better for your sister - that's wonderful. Poor thing. Growing up is tough, and then it doesn't get easier! Which is why this place is just so darned good. Yippee!!

Lots of love for now,
N
xx
K,

I totally zonked out last night at 8:30! Had to watch Grey's this morning online... anyway, sorry I missed ya!!
hi again K,

I just wanted to say that your kid sister is very much in my thoughts. There was a time at high school when I begged my mum to let me stay home due to the horrible time I was having. Just wanted to show her some moral support.
she's very lucky to have you as a big sister.

N
xx
Thank you so much Kerian - you really are one of the nicest people I've ever "met".

Not only do you give me clickable birthday presents, but you take the time to offer me all those tips for back relief. thank you.

I'll try all your suggestions. I'm also fortunate that one of my friends is a massage therapist. He's coming to have a look at me on Friday.

Hope you're well, and that you're keeping safe.

Lots of love.

N
xx
Very clever with the birthday presents for LadyN! It was so much fun to click and see the present! It was like it was my birthday, too!
naw I didn't start untamed yet I have three other books I'm reading. I want to finish those.
Hi K, sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. Either the 11th or 12th is fine, how about we make it on Saturday, the 11th. What time? Maybe Noonish?
I keep forgetting to ask, what is your picture of? It is beautiful!
Thanks K! Yes finally everything is back!
I just checked to see how many books you have, and you only have one more than me! I have actually been pretty good (I think) about not buying books I hear about on LT. I try to get most of them from the library. In the 15 months of being a member, I would say I have bought 25 books. The great thing is I am rereading less and reading new books more.
You won't believe this, but I am getting green counters! Not from the sixties, of course :) He took measurements today and the installation will be in a few weeks. I will post pictures!

There are so many good books on my TBR list. I tried to get it smaller by reading a lot over the summer, but thanks to HE it just keeps growing! Oh, well, better too many books than not enough, I guess. I will be sure to post what I think!
Ah man. You got me. Yep, the kids are having fun designing what they want the classroom to look like.
Ha ha!!!!

I wrote that bit on my profile just over a year ago!! Perhaps I should update... eek!

I completely understand about the money saving issue - it really gets in the way of things doesn't it?! I'm sure we'll get to meet, be it sooner or later. There's a whole lot of time left in life, but let's keep our fingers crossed for sooner!

Your sister is in my thoughts. Whatever they discover is happening, at least that will hopefully help put in place a means for getting her better.

Big love
xx
Thanks K! I'm really pleased :-)

Had such a lovely time on Sunday, but the poor things ended up waking for miles back and forth, as I was a little disorganised with the geography of the day! We suddenly realised we need a picture right at the end of the day, so Rom took one of Maren and me. I'm sure she'll post it when she's over her jet lag!

I really hope you and suge are still wanting to come over here next year!! We'll have such a fantastic time, and I need to meet you Mrs!

How's your sister doing?

xx
Hi Kerian,

I hope you feel better today. I send you lots of hugs and energy for your day. Remember, you are strong. You mastered the NY subway system!

Cristina
I've been to that shopping center a lot of times because it's on the way to the Coliseum where the A's play, and we sometimes stop for Krispy Kremes. We could even go to the movies if there's anything good playing.

What day and time? yay!
We have a Borders, which has suffered from a sudden diminishment of inventory of late, a local independent called Book Shop Santa Cruz which is very nice, and a really great used book store called Logos. That's just downtown. There's also some other great independents nearby. Plus good restaurants, even ones that are not ethnic!

I really like the idea of going to the Borders near Krispy Kreme, tho. I love KK!!!
Well, let's see, I'm busy Oct 5, Oct 19 and the weekend of the 25th. that leaves the weekend of the 11-12th. I actually have the 13th off, so that's possible too.

It seems like it would be easier for me to come out your way unless you want to spend the night like we discussed. Let me know!

btw, my sister still isn't sure if she's getting chemo or not. Her tests put her right in the middle of extremes of "hormone therapy only" and "must do chemo." She's seeing her doc in a few days and will have more info then. Thanks for asking about her.

Cancer sucks.
Thanks Kerian! I had a really fun day! Hope your week is going great!
:)
yeah, but it was probably for the best. lol

Thanks carr. I hope that you had fun on your early (eww) shift.
That's possible. I had to look her up, but I saw her in Groundhog Day. Was that your thought or suge's?

Has suge seen my rumor mill yet? Should I hide? 8-O
Sure ask suge. I'm blanking. I just want to finish the profile so I can get to bed before midnight. :oP
Cats and dogs, sleeping together, mass hysteria!
~Ghostbusters

K, help me. I'm filling out a profile for some homeschooling group. They ask weird questions. Who would play me in a movie? I'm thinking I need a comedic actress, but I'm blanking.
K, I know it's difficult when a family member announces that they love a different kind of animal, but I hope you will remember that it has nothing to do with how she was raised. She would probably still like dogs if she slept with cats on her bed her entire childhood. She just wants your love and reassurance. My own husband grew up as a dog person until I introduced him to his first cat.

Cat people and dog people. We're just wired differently. That doesn't mean we can't love each other. We all like fuzzy critters, after all.
Thanks for letting me know K!! Now I cant wait lol!!!!
we got her! she's adorable.

i love the golden compass, and the name seemed to fit, so...
*hugs back* well i dont know if anything happend to him, all i know is that he's gone and i really miss him. but i'm happy as long as he's alive and well

on the other hand we went down to the SPCA and picked out a kitten earlier. i'm naming her Lyra. i miss Larka, but i still want a cat and Mittens needs a companion, she's really lonely so...................
haha, well I'm really excited. None of my friends are really into reading... some are, but they're not interested in talking about it. So I'm happy to be making friends with people who ARE interested already!
Hey Kerian,

Thanks for the warm welcome, and hello from alllll the way over in VT!
Thanks, K :) I'm feeling better today, trying to enjoy the sun a bit while I finish The Golem's Eye, which I didn't accomplish before crashing last night. Hope you're having a good day!
*snort*
No good K, they told me it was you. Crazy technology can see right through invisibility cloaks.

But thanks for trying. ;o)
Hi Kerian! I saw you wrote you want to read Wuthering Heights just because of Thursday Next. I had never read WH, but after reading the group theropy session in Well of Lost Plots I am reconsidering. It was great!

I thought I would post my comment here than on the thread. Less chance of spoilage :)
KIK. Maybe it is subliminal that we type attacked instead of attached.
Congrats on the new job!! Now we just need details or I need to catch up on the threads or both.
Hi gorgeous!

Yep, still waiting! I leave home before the post arrives every morning, so the first thing I do when I get home is look through the glass of my apartment block to see if there's anything waiting for me - before I've even opened the door!

Fingers crossed we'll get our treats soon!

I'm still catching up on all I've missed around here, but will jump right back in I'm sure!

Big hugs,
N
xx
Hi Kerian! It was so nice of you to drop by and comment on my Breaking Dawn review :-) I see that we do share some books (51), a few of which are my favorites like Glass Houses, Tithe and, of course, Twilight. Thank you also for the complement on my profile pic. You have a very nice one as well, I love the pink sky!!
Kerian,

Thank you for the thoughts... almost everything is looking up. I still do not have a job or internet at my apartment but other then all that everything is great.. I miss you guys so much and I am going to try and pop by HE to let everyone know... Hopefully I willbe on again A LOT soon cause I got my internet router today... I really hope everything is good with you! Let me know... TTYL ~Melody
Kerian - That is SOOOOOO cool that Ginny Rorby commented on your blog!! :-D **I'm jumping up and down for you right now!!** I'm glad you liked that book so much too - my husband and I read it aloud together (he grew up near Fremont too!) and there were definitely times when we were both in tears (I think for the entire last third of the book we had to keep pausing because one or both of us was too choked up to read). I originally picked it up because I love chimpanzees and gorillas - the cover really caught my eye - but the story was so moving that I've been telling everyone I know to read it. Now I'll have to look to see if Ginny Rorby has a website.... I have to say again too - that is just totally awesome!! Your blog is really neat too. Glad you liked Howl's Moving Castle, that was a really fun book!
*Still jumping up and down*
lisa :)
Hello K,

Yes, I've been building the couch/daybed. I just need to get a mattress and it's done. I never realized how hard it is to build furniture. I would explain what I planned to do, and my husband would shoot these annoying questions at me, like "is there going to be enough support in the center to keep it from bowing?" What am I, a physics professor? Sheesh. :o)

Peace and Laughter,
Cristina
I am still waiting to hear back from Stu. I wonder if he signed up with a real email address to know when he gets comments. Maybe he needs to start an advice collum like "uncle" Andrew did on Green Dragon.

I like Breaking Dawn so far, but I am not very far. I read your review. Thumbs Up! Good luck!
Job hunting is always hard. It sounds like you have a good plan. You might consider part time and then some time volunteering or as an intern at either a library or a publishing house. That way you could be getting valuable experience that will help you get the full time job you want when it comes along. Don't be discouraged. Something will happen- it always does. Maren
Thanks for the good wishes K. It is good to be moved and good to be back. How goes the job hunt?
HI! thanks for the good wishes.
I went to the doctor yesterday for a follow up, he said it could be up to 4 months. I'm going back next thursday so he can see how I'm doing and hopefully be able to tell if it will really take that long.
hi, I had to call Lucky and complain. I haven't gotten any issues since like Feb.

OOOOH I can't wait. the only thing that makes winter more berable are the clothes. AND BOOTS!!!
hi k, everyone's actually home now. I got home on wed. and my sisters got home on sun. we all had a pretty good time seeing all our million relatives. I know I haven't posted much, but I've been pretty busy between that and work and I've been spending a lot of time with the guy I'm dating. and right now I'm trying to get through breaking dawn before I venture back into the HE.
lol that's awesome! I haven't called the number since! How cool is it that they got numbers for the book? Did you tell your sisters that I kept calling it too?

I didn't really read a lot on friday. I guess I was kinda drunk and my mom was visiting and she was going to sleep in my room. I even got a new book light (I have about three running about the house) so i could read with her there but I fell asleep as soon as I got there!

How was your experience?
No problem! I understand how one can get lost in the Twilight Zone! ;)
