Om mig I work nine months out the year as an Administrative Associate in the Dean of Student's office at Montana State University. I am also a production stage manager for Montana Shakespeare in the Parks in the summer. Theater has been a constant in my life, though I don't know how that happened considering I grew up in a small West Texas town. However my love for reading comes straight from my mother who was and is an avid reader. I am a self taught very amateur oil painter and photographer. When time and funds permit I love to travel and fully admit to being complete Anglophile and can't wait to get back to London.

Hi Kimberly, that's okay about your plans changing. That's great that you get to spend more time with your friend. I'm looking forward to our August meeting too. It'll be fun to explore a bit of Seattle as a bonus. When I was watching the last few episodes of Grey's Anatomy and they'd show the big Market sign or something of the city I'd be thinking "Hey! I'll be seeing some of that soon!"

We really haven't been talking much about the get-together, guess we'll start chatting more when the time gets closer.

I don't mind being your travel sounding board at all, please feel free to ask as many questions as you like. sandragon is probably a good sounding board too.

There is a vehicle ferry, called the Coho, that sails out of Port Angeles straight into the Inner Harbour in Victoria http://www.cohoferry.com/ Not sure if this will help you, but it's another option anyways. The ferries from Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay)are certainly great, always very busy in the summer, http://www.bcferries.com/

Believe it or not, this post is in response to the question you asked about the end of Torchwood. He actually said that he found...and it was a boy's name. I felt like it was the name of a child, I can't remember why. Did you feel the same way I did about the show? I couldn't stop watching it but I was a little disappointed in where they went with some of the episodes. I thought they should have developed some of the relationships more and some of the characters more, instead of having it be so plot driven, because the plots weren't that riveting. And yet, I did watch it right to the bitter end. I do love Sci-Fi. Mary Beth

Hi - Thanks for adding my catalog to your "interesting libraries" list. I see you are also fond of disaster books - and you have actually read all of yours!

You are so lucky to live in Bozeman - so gorgeous, but it seems like it is more crowded every time I have a chance to get over there.

You might enjoy Bad Land: An American Romance by Jonathan Raban. It is nonfiction, about the homesteaders who were lured onto the arid MT and Dakota prairies by the promise that "the rain follows the plow". Also The Children's Blizzard, mentioned in that disaster thread - that one is more Dakotas, but still a compelling story.

I saw in the 'what are you reading now' thread that you were reading 'A Game of Thrones' the other day. I just peeked and I see that you've given it four stars! I haven't read it myself yet, but I gave it to my 16 year old daughter for Christmas, and she's been raving about it since she started it a day or so ago. I think I'm going to have to invest in the whole series. Does it remind you of Tolkien at all?

I've lived in the Hamilton area for about twenty years, and have been in Montana about 40 years.

It looks like you have some wonderful mystery authors in your library. These long dark evenings are made for cuddling up with a good book!

Hi, Have you read Broken for You by Stephanie Kalos? Not only is it a great book but one of the two main characters is a youngish female stage manager (at least I think that's her job). I was just randomly checking out people on the list of new users with my my books. We don't share many books but it's a lovely selection. Best, Lois
