Om mig I'm an avid - if indiscriminate - reader. Since I spend so much time in the car these days, a lot of my reading is done by audiobook, but nothing is quite as satisfying as curling up with a good hardcover book. I enjoy good books, good movies, good wine and smart, funny people to share them with. I'm a fairly talented cook (hence the big collection of cookbooks) and a bit crafty (see: books on quilting, cross-stitch, knitting, etc.) I appreciate well-chosen words, I'm a bit of a grammar freak, I don't watch much tv (although I am devoted to the things I do watch) but I spend a ton of time on the internet. I talk about books on forums, on Goodreads, and on other websites, but this is by far my favorite book place.

Om mitt bibliotek I know that some people insist on streamlining their libraries, or collect specific titles and genres. Me? I want EVERYTHING. I want to see Clive Barker rubbing shoulders with Oscar Wilde and Dorothy Parker. I want to surround the boring chick-lit stuff I get for Christmas with HP Lovecraft and see if something interesting rubs off. I want piles of books about far-flung destinations - real and fictional. Anything goes and everyone is welcome.

hi: I think the fact that this book is getting such negative reviews is part of what makes me want to read it. Sorry I could not send you a book in return.

My snail mail is:

Tina Avon
1 Place Ville Marie
Suite 2035
Montreal (Quebec)
H3B 2C4

Thank you so much!
Thanks for the visit!! Glad you liked my reviews - I certainly enjoy writing them. :)
I will definitely pass it on to one of them. Thanks so much:)
Hi Lisa, Is The Stories of Devil Girl gone yet? If not I would love to take it. Tracy
Thanks! I see you have Brad Meltzers 'Dead Even' tagged as 'unread'. I'm just getting started with LT so I'm assuming that means you haven't read it yet..right? lol. It was a great read! Also, check out his book 'The Zero Game', there are talks of making it a movie next year.

Thanks again!
Shane
Hey Lisa,

I'm Shane. I saw where you had read the book 'Creepers'. Just wondering if you'd read the follow up 'Scavengers'. I bought it but havent read it yet. Any comments on that one?? If you've read it.

Thanks,

Oh, I thought Creepers was fair. You're right about the New Jersey tough guys though...lol
Ok, I just have to say that you have the best profile picture on LT.
Hi Lisa, Just got back to the new place about an hour ago. It's about a 3hr run,a little longer with the dogs. Read your review and felt you handled 'The Terror' well. The copy I tried to read is a review copy. I found myself getting confused over the way Simmons jump from character to character and location and time. I felt it was too much work to keep it all straight. Like I said, his 'Carrion Comfort' was great.
Havent started the new King yet, but plan to go to the library tomorrow. (King has enough money, I'll save my money to buy a newer author).
By the way, Have you read or own 'Speaks the Nightbird' by robert McCammon? A 700+ psge novel that I never wanted it to end.
bob
I'm glad to find I'm not intruding on your time. I'm always happy to find someone who appreciates the same genres as myself.
Hello Lisa, I checked out your blog. Very good and of course I had to leave a comment. Anyway, I no longer are moderating the books groups. Bobbie Wayne has taken them over. I am now living in the Southern part of the state, in a log home, two dogs, two cats, and 25 acres of woods. No high speed internet anywhere and thank god, the only walmart is 45 mins. away in West Virginia. Jan will be coming down after the house in Twinsburg sells.
See you later,
bob
ps It took all winter to move my books down. Had to move them by pickup. Now I have to unpack them. I can find anything.
Lisa, thanks for the additional info on the "police" derivation. It still sounds wrong to me and I don't think I can get used to the use but it figures that there had to be a reason for its use in the book. Thanks again.
Lisa,
The book arrived in the mail today. Thanks again!
Shawnee
Lisa, please let me know if you ever get to the bottom of that "police" thing. Thanks for letting me know what you've found so far...it still bugs me.
Lisa, her use of "police" as a singular noun bugged me to the point of distraction...I think I would have actually rated the book a bit higher if she hadn't done that. I wish someone could tell us where she came up with that and, more importantly, why.
I was wondering if you had read As Francesca? I am trying to place it on my "to read" list, and i am wondering how high it should go.
Hi Lisa, been looking at your library and I wanted to asked if you read 'The Shadow of the Wind'? bob
Have a book for you to read. Charlie Huston's 'Already Dead'. Also have you read anything by M J Rose? take care, bob
lisa, just finished Vertical Run by Joseph Garber. You where right, it was an exciting read.
I got to thank you for telling me about this site, I really am enjoying it. I'm going to add you to the watch group. I read the comment about Chesbro. If you haven't read Mongo, do so. I can't believe he hasn't a publisher anymore. A great talented lost. He has a new Mongo novel coming out, but it is only being published in France. Also try Chesbro's novel "bone".
see you later
bob
try George Chesbro too (if hard-boiled dwarf detectives appeal) - he's a good writer. Actually I still have another 10,000 and space is a serious problem. Only keep the good stuff!
Quite a good one, yes.

I gre up in Hudson . . . 15 minutes from Kenyon. What a small virtual world.
20% of my books are entered!! I really need to catch up with you!
I have added a note ~~~~~MAJOR SPOILERS~~~~~ to my Bee Season review. I hope this will resolve the problem. Thanks for pointing it out to me, I should have included that at the time.
The Club Dumas is is the only book by Reverte I ahve read to date. I have The Fencing Master and am looking forward to reading it. I'll have to pick up The Seville Communion.
We share 4 of the same books! How did you like "The Club Dumas"?
