And despite living thousands of miles away in the Antipodes, I have visited 16.4% of the world – 42 countries – by our rules, which allow for historical anomalies such as East Germany, Hong Kong, Wales etc.
The countries, not all of which appear on the map, as of June 2012 are:
USA, Mexico, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic, East Germany, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Eire, Portugal, Spain, France, Monaco, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican City, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, Romania, Greece, Israel, Egypt, Qatar, Hong Kong, Thailand, Fiji, New Zealand, and of course, Australia.
