Thanks for your comments about Sunny Side Up. I'm glad you picked up on what the book is about. I'm wanting to know more about what the younger generations are thinking about the world these days and i don't have that much opportunity to speak with them. My friends' children are all over the world and i don't have contact with them. I hope that as you get further into the book, you'll continue to feel like reading. I present the material as it struck me at the time, so there's not always explanation about what i didn't yet understand. Best wishes, BJ

I dunno. As you can tell, the one Grissom is on is quite caved in so very cosy. Our two store cats love boxes, bags, anything they can get into as well. Shakespeare has even gone so far as to crawl under the area rugs and we had to watch our step or either trip over him, or step on him. I'll try and find a picture.

Thanks so much for the recommendation. I took a look at Persian Pilgrimage/Soul of Iran, and I'm going to try to get a hold of it, as I think I'd really like it.

My first exposure to Middle Eastern literature was Naguib Mahfouz, and I still retain a passionate love for his books, especially The Cairo Trilogy.

I read your profile, and I had to laugh when I saw the bit about wanting more hours in the day to read. My screen saver on my laptop says "Life is short. Read faster." It's nice to meet a kindred spirit :)

it was well written, I actually didn't finish it today I got caught up in a computer game, I think I'm actually going to start my next book so its started and finish Love in the Tine of Cholera later this week.

In reply to your comment about Love in the Time of Cholera. I have about a chapter to go right now, hoping to finish it today. I liked it, but at times found it hard to read, and not being able to connect to the characters as well as I like to.

I'm glad you liked it! I couldn't seem to get through the first two chapters.

I'm very jealous, I wish I could play with that many books! It sounds like once things settle down it will be lots of fun (lots of work, but lots of fun too). I don't have a Facebook but I've been thinking about it. Now I have another incentive :-)

That's so exciting about the bookstore! Are you targeting certain types of books or all kinds? I have always wanted to have a cafe/bookstore, but that's definitely not feasible for me right now. However- so glad it's feasible for you and best wishes for it succeeding! What are you naming the store?

I will let you know when I get it in the mail. Then, when you get it maybe you could send me a postcard from Canada. My brother works for Nortel, which is a Canadian company. He lives in Texas, but he has been to Canada many times. I, however, have never been there. I hope that I get it to you soon. :)

Hi!
Guess what? Today when I went to the store, I remembered to get a coffee mug of Oklahoma for you! I am sure that you totally gave up on me! Anyway, I wasn't sure what you were looking for in a mug. This one says Oklahoma on it and has a photo of a cowboy on a horse at sunset. It doesn't have a map of OK on it. Is that ok? Let me know where you would like for me to send it, and I will try to get it in the mail. Just to let you know, I am not that good at mailing things, but I do have a package to send to a friend in Mexico and another to send to Texas. Having three to send should get me in gear. Hi there...everytime I visit your library I mean to drop a note about your beautiful cat. We recently adopted a b/w Tuxedo buddy from the shelter. He's FIV positive so he can't go outside, we adopted two of them (both FIV cats) so they sit in our windows and bask in the sun, and are delightfully spoiled. If cats could read, I'd come back in my next life as a prima kitty.

Maybe after I get a little better I can find you a mug from Oklahoma. Crossing the panhandle from north to south is really quick! Not much there. I am from Texas and crossing Texas takes a while. There are two major cities in Oklahoma and only really small towns in the panhandle. Did you like New Orleans? I haven't been there in a long time. It had pluses and minuses. One big plus was the wonderful food. Must be a different part of Canada that is getting all the snow. I don't know what to think about global warming. Hope that you are having a great day!

I heard that Canada has had a lot of snow this year. The panhandle of Oklahoma is really different from the part that I live in. I live in Northeastern OK which is hilly and greener, by which I mean there are more plants and trees. Plus we have black dirt instead of the red clay out west. There is some dramatic landscape in the panhandle area with mesas. I hope this makes sense. I am a little under the weather. My brother works for a Canadian company, Nortel. But he lives in Dallas. He goes to Ontario a lot, though. It seems like a pretty good company to work for.

I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma -- about the geographic center of the continental US. We have had an ice storm and my daughter has been out of school all week. The snow part is pretty, it is just the ice that I don't care for. I have a daughter in college who lives in Texas, which is where is am from. I also wish there was more time to read. :) There is so much to choose from out there! I am also doing the 999 challenge, although I think it will be hard to read 81 books. Still, I can try!

HI there- Happy New Year! I saw your post on the 999 challenge that you are planning to start off with Dante. There are several of us (I have to get the names together from back threads) who have talked about doing a semi-group read on the[Inferno] during Lent. Ash Wednesday is last week of Feb, so I'm going to start then. If you'd like to join in the comments/discussion, please let me know. I'll gather the names and some very loose ideas about how to proceed in early Feb. Anyway, love your kitty.

Just wanted to let you know that I am still planning to send the books - I just waited too long and then couldn't cope with the long lines at the post office. Now that it's post-Christmas, I should be able to get into a post office and get them mailed this next week. Thanks for being patient!

It didn't take to long for the book to get to you. I hope you enjoy it.
I found it brought out a variety of emotions. We took a guided tour of West Point a couple of summers ago. We weren't shown any of the academic buildings.

Hi Neverwithoutabook. I went home and asked my Mum about the 365 Bedtime Stories book - she knew exactly which book I was talking about and knows where it probably is (she's fairly certain we didn't throw it out or give it away), so I'm going to do some digging (literally, it's buried in a cupboard in a wooden crate under some suitcases) and see if I can find it. I'll let you know if I do. If I find it I'll have my bedtime reading sorted for the next year ;-)

I am in the 999 and I see that you have a category devoted to John Sandford's "Prey Series". I am looking forward to your reviews of them as it amy help me recall which books I have read and which ones I didn't. I have a bad habit of reading series books out of order sometimes and I honestly don't know where I left off. Let me know which ones you are missing, I may be able to help, as I think I have some duplicates!

I think I will be reading Secret Prey in my Miscellaneous category.
