Om migI'm a voracious reader and would easily give up everything in life to sit around and read all day, as long as I had a good coffee shop and some friends to sit around and talk about stupid subjects with late at night.. I'm fixated on the Great Conversation (it's always ongoing), the Bardic arts of Story-weaving and song, and writing.. I also tend bar on the weekends, to feed my book addiction..

Om mitt bibliotekIn the last decade I've concentrated on fantasy literature, but if I'm out wandering the stacks in a bookstore, I'll pick up anything that generally captures my eye.. Lately I've been collecting anthologies in the SF/Fantasy departments, and even in general fiction (see McSweeney's edited by Michael Chabon).. All manner of non-fiction subjects fascinate me and I've been known to add books just based on the title and cover art.. Almost entirely all the fiction is read, but the non-fiction sits for research.. I'm not a big used-book fan unless I can't find it new anywhere or anyhow.. I like to make the only imprint on my collection and rarely even lend out books, unless I want others to read them in which case I have duplicates just for people to read since I know they'll destroy them.. I can't bear to throw away or even give away a book, even if I dislike its very existence.. I go to Pow-Wows around the midwest and hit the little trade shows that spring up around them to find books that are focused on Native Americans, some even dual-language copies.. Language is my hobby, and I have a wide assortment of books translated into or written in other languages, which I use to teach myself to read, if not go on to make attempts at speaking and understanding.. I like to think of it overall as an eclectic, random mix of books in which certain variable patterns emerge from time to time..
