Om mig'ello, and welcome. ^-^ I was never much good at introductions, but I think that goes for many others too.

I love both reading and writing, both of which are activities I'm reasonably good at. I have a habit of attaching textures to sounds and a bias against first person. (That doesn't stop me from enjoying first person narratives, but it does make it a lot more difficult.)

Uhm... I also enjoy singing, albeit off-key, and I have problems watching movies because my attention span wanders. I'm a cat-person and my home houses four lovely cats (and a dog).

Lastly, drop a note if you've any other questions. I don't bite, I promise. ^-^ (Also, if I don't know you and you could tell me why you're friending me, I would really appreciate it. Years of serial adders have made me a little paranoid in that respect.)

Om mitt bibliotek*gestures at the collections* Need I say more? (Oh, yes, I do. "To Remove" are books that I do still have lying about, waiting to be taken away. I'm not on BookMooch or aught, but if anything strikes your fancy you're welcome to ask about it. ^-^)

Most of the books I own are in English and, despite being Dutch, the only books in that language that I own are those with youth sentiment. Dutch is... almost physically painful for me to read nowadays, so I try not to. (Most Dutch books listed are my parents'.)

Feel free to browse around or leave recommendations! (Also, if you disagree with a genre label or want to give me a shove in the right direction for the books I can't/couldn't place, please drop me a note! I'm still quite new to this whole labelling thing and have lots to learn!)

Hey there. I'm glad I found something that you may be interested in (I love Emilie Autumn!). I find her quite interesting.

I hear ya about concerts..they are quite loud and crowded. Though I'm a bit use to it. I just recently went to Mayhem fest..which had a handful of different metal/rock bands. It wasn't too bad because it was such a huge area, mostly outdoors..but some of the concerts I've been to have made my head feel as if it would explode. LOL.

Ohh..so recently I've been working on a blog. You can check it out here, if you like. http://tyrionfrost.wordpress.com/ . Once I get a place set up for others blog links, I'll link you on my page. Feel free to do the same, if you wish :). Though mine is still under construction as you can see..and I'm still getting a feel for wordpress. By the way..in case you were wondering, which you probably weren't (lol), the name Tyrion Frost comes from a character I created in World of Warcraft (ugh that game is horribly addicting). It's caught on, and I kind of like it.

Anyway..hope all is well..and I hope your holidays are going good (with whatever you do or celebrate). Mine are fine..though..my cellphone went through the wash and is now dead. Yay!

..oh and lastly (thought I'd mention it(, I'm reading "Wood Beyond the World" by William Morris. It's so..nice. I guess that's how I'd describe it. The writing for me, is just lovely. Any how..talk to you later =].

Thanks, gorgeous. I may have to take you up on that offer of help some time. In the meantime, I shall continue to flounder about and see how I go.
Haha! Thanks for the recommendations - I'll be sure to check some of them out, they look fantastic! I too prefer YA that takes danger and problems /seriously/ - and I did when I was a YA, too!
I'm not sure what sort of fairy books you are looking for but, [How To Ditch Your Fairy] was sort of cute but it might be too fairy (as in godmother) for what you're looking for. Happy reading.
Sorry for taunting you with the 5-star thing! I'm doing SantaThing this year, so I figured it was best to list the book now, even though I haven't reviewed it yet. I wanted to give my Santa a complete picture of what I own and have enjoyed. :)

But yes, the book was amazing. It was so good that I don't even know how I'll manage to review it.
Thanks, gorgeous. I'm still finding my way around here--it's much less intuitive than Goodreads.
Don't worry, it's not cruel! Enthusiasm over books always makes me happy. Also, the cover is gorgeous! Hearing about how awesome the content is is a pleasure :D
5 stars! Oh, you lucky thing, you :D

There you go, if you're bored :p. Hope I'm not pestering you by the way (You might get another notification, I had to delete my last post because the link was wrong..won't be like the time you got like 15 notifications from my posts though..LOL).
Wow, thanks for the links. Celtic Woman are amazing. I've seen them a few times on television..and from what I've seen..beautiful vocals..and the violin playing is just amazing :).

Gah! What the heck..for some reason my browser was scrolling down by itself and wouldn't go back up... Haha..weird. Anyway..

I know some of the bands you listed, but I'll check the others out. You were right about Apocalyptica by the way..lol..I do know and like them :D. I've heard a bit from The Decemberists as well..but not much. Anyway..got lots to check out now. Thanks :).

And yes..most growly metal is either death or black..though there's other variations.

Oh..and you MIGHT (I stress that) like Emilie Autumn. She's gone through a lot of different styles musically..but her album "Enchant" is often described as "Medieval Faerie Music"..or something of the sort. It was at the least, inspired by faeries/faerie tales. Anyway..now days her style is much darker and a bit.. Gothic..but even if, she's still an interesting performer (and poet, and violinist). I personally love the song Shalot by her..and most of the songs on Enchant. I'd suggest checking that album out, if you ever get bored :p. You may hate it..but, tis worth a try!
Hey again :D.

Yes, decent is pretty good...putting aside a few un-expected events. Our cat was recently diagnosed with Feline Diabetes..so that's been a bit of a worry..with all the injections of insulin and such. But.. all is smoothing out now, and it could have been a lot worse. As for school.. still not sure on what other courses I'll be taking...but I'll be signing up here really soon, and figuring all that out :P.

Sorry about the myspace link. I actually agree..myspace is..bleh. Haha. Never been much of a myspacer..that..and the fact that it's so slow most of the time.

Ohh...as far as musical taste..I still do indeed like Metal, but I've found that over the years (especially after high school) my taste in it has definitely branched out. I was rather..confined when it came to music in the past. I guess you could say that I was a bit of a metal head..and that's about all I listened to..lol. But over time I guess I got a bit..tired..of the angry/aggressiveness of the music itself. At least, to be listening to it so often. I need variety. Haha. Anyhow..It all really depends on my mood most of the time now. I really like a huge array of bands/genres though, ranging from indie.. to metal (of course :p) to folk, to neo-classical, shoegaze, gothic rock, ambient, alternative..some industrial, etc. Lol. I'll basically give anything a try a few times (though I rather dislike most country and rap). But yeah..lately I've been listening to a lot of different "atmospheric" types of music..instrumental.. etc.

What kind of bands do you like? Always looking for new music :).

As far as the songs you heard by Heather Woods Broderick, it may or may not have been a demo..I'm not sure. But I do know there's a lot of unfinished versions floating around the net that aren't as good as the completed ones. It's not for everyone though. For me personally, after listening to the entire album as a whole, I'm very pleased with it. It all flows quite beautifully..the music for me, is rather emotional..and I love her voice. It's a good listen..but only when I'm in the mood for something a bit different..and a bit calming, I guess you could say.

Oi. Good luck on your essay by the way :D. I need to re-read Twilight of Avalon myself, simply because I liked it so much..but then I look at my TBR pile and sigh..and pick up a new one. Haha. There's definitely a few I'd like to re-read soon though.

As for beagle, I'll definitely check out the sequel novella to TLU. I really, really loved TLU..and I wasn't aware that there was actually a sequel to it. That's awesome :). As for "The Innkeeper's Song"..now that I'm nearing the end of the book it's getting better..and things are starting to come together..but there's still a lot of issues I have with it. A lot of it just didn't keep my interesting.. in fact, most of the time I felt like falling asleep...lol. Bleh! Oh..and I too have Tamlin on my "read soon" list, as well as "A Fine and Private Place."

Anyway, I think I typed too much..LOL. Again, I hope all is well..and if you celebrate thanksgiving or what not..I wish you a good one :D. We're preparing for the big meal now..fun..heh.

Always nice talking with you :D
-Joe
Hey there..just wanted to say hi :)..so hi! lol. How is everything? All is well I hope?

Things are decent for me. Turned in my financial aid papers so I can go back to college for Winter quarter. Fun :D. Though I think I'm going to have to tackle math this time..and I'm..terrible at math. Like..not even normal terrible..but terrible terrible :( haha.

Anyway..oh..I did run across a great CD. It's called "From the Ground" and it's by Heather Woods Broderick. Beautiful music in my opinion. You can listen to her here: http://www.myspace.com/woodsmusical . I personally love "Wounded Bird" and "Cottonwood Bay".

I use to be more into a harder.. "rawr rawr!" metal type of music..haha...but lately I'm finding much more enjoyment in more atmospheric/mellow artists and bands :P. Anyway..really loved the album, so I thought I'd share it with you.

Read anything good lately? Or bad? lol.

I'm currently reading "The Innkeeper's Song" by Peter S. Beagle, and for some reason..I just don't like it much. It's nicely written..but I'm having a hard time connecting with the characters..and the story seems all over the place...and a bit disjointed. Bleh! I loved "The Last Unicorn" though..so I'm really surprised I'm not liking this. Oh well!

Any how..hope all is well, as stated above :P. Talk to you later!!

-Joe
