Yes i did get my teaching degree & certificate tho i never got a full time teaching position but i have subbed a lot! I was 46 yo when i finished college. In US they require lots of math in the geology curriculum as most geologists end up working in the lab crunching #s & only a lucky few actually get to do field work & they have to be able to translate their findings into mathese for the labrats to crunch further. I have had a rock & mineral hobby for a long time & belong to our local rock & mineral club. I am retired but doing a little subbing for extra money-however i only do Special ed. classes now! It was a book that gave me the idea of studying geology in the first place. It is in my library, the title is [Scenic Geology of the Pacific Northwest]. I had been to a lot of places in the PacNW as a kid & wondered how the scenery had got to look the way it does. That book gave an inkling of what seemed to me a very fascinating subject & the fascination is still w/me. I would love see both OZ & NZ but @ this point in my life the prospect of long distance travel is fairly dim so i read about all of those places & watch all the stuff they show on TV-i'm an armchair explorer! Well i've bent your ears for long enough so i'll get outa your face. Vanye 8^)

SpicyCat- did you get a degree in Geology @ university? I started out to get a degree in geology but ended up getting a degree in Earth Science Education as i had probs w/the advanced maths. My library included a lot of geolgy & e. science books. You & i share 16 books but none are geology tho! Your kittie is pretty. Is she/he a tortie? Welcome to LT & GD! Vanye 8^)

Yeah, I'm getting someone else's profile almost every time I log in. I'm just putting up with it, as neither LibraryThing nor TelstraClear seem to be willing to do anything about it.

Hey, SpicyCat. My reference to was to Snaggletooth, a character from the Hanna-Barbera cartoons of the 1960's and 1970's. He was a one-fanged cat who walked upright and wore a shirt collar. I didn't have any slang in mind. Sorry for any mix-up.

Not really, most days I'm seeing either senjmito or northislander's account. Haven't been you for a while though! Neither LT or Telstra appear to be able to do anything about it, so I guess I'll just have to put up with it.

Good to hear it's all working for you. I'm going to talk to TelstraClear again - I've found at least one other person that's having the same problem. Hope it doesn't start affecting you.

Hi there. Just wondering if you are having any problems with LibraryThing. In the last few weeks, I keep getting redirected to other NZers profile pages instead of my own. I also see other usernames at the top right of the screen. Yours was one of the profiles I was mixed up with for a day. I posted in the Bug Collectors forum about it but Tim thinks it is an ISP problem. However the ISP doesn't think it's them. Have you had any similar problems? And are you with TelstraClear like me?
