Om mitt bibliotek In progress (aren't they all?). I'm a fan of the library database software at readerware.com, and hope to integrate this with that somehow, but I'm flummoxed for the time being. So...for now, what we've got here is a semi-random sampling of my favorites and titles that I find on other people's libraries that I recognize from my own.

Hi Mike,

Checked out your gorelets site (very cool) and read your intro to 100 Jolts &, despite my less than encyclopedic exposure to horror, I completely concur that the short-story format is the beating heart of...or, should I say, unbeating heart (heh heh heh) of horror. You mention Poe's The Cask of Amontillago...and are so correct re. Poe's aims. I mean, what a universally chilling fear Poe tapped into -- being buried, no, Freemasonry'd alive -- and that he wrote it almost a century prior to the term paranoid schizophrenia even being coined, & yet described the perpetrator's diagnosable mental disorder precisely, is further testament to his genius, and to the power of the short horror genre.

I promise to get my hands on a copy of 100 Jolts soon.

Adios mi amigo!
Hiya Michael,

Thanks for the "interesting library" reciprocation! I forget how I found your page, but am glad I did. I'd like to read your work. Which book of yours (besides "all of them") would you recommend I begin with?

Thanks again,

"Lola"
I came across your library after googling the phrase "book hoarder blog". You've got a great library!
Hey Mike!!!

Thanks for getting me hooked on this thing! It's amazing!!! Your stuff's up already...I'm gonna keep going!!!!

Bill
Hi Mike

Thanks for adding me to your friends list. Cool library.

Awesome. Several of the titles were added to the WPF manual, which was fantastic since we romance and chick lit people needed some more recent material to use.
Alert: as some of you may know, there's a special LibraryThing offer in the latest issue of The Goreletter at http://www.gorelets.com

You must subscribe (free) to the e-mail edition -- and be a new LT member -- to qualify.

If you take advantage of this, don't forget to alert me.

You're welcome, Mike. I browsed your shelf. Been meaning to try Cody Goodfellow. Noticed a couple of Ligotti books. He's one of my favorite writers.
Glad to catch up with you in the "profile comments" after checking out the blog. The humorous mystery stuff...I'd start with Paul Levine's Solomon vs. Lord -- http://www.librarything.com/work.php?boo... -- goofy but fun.
You have a great library too! I'm going to browse it for titles I need.
Mike,

I read your comment a few days ago when you posted it and again today. I have to say, you so made my day.

Thanks, Mike.

This is a pretty cool concept.

GREAT library, Mike! I didn't see your comment last month (DUH) so thanks for dropping by. I never realized how many reference books I have in the religion field (most not catalogued yet, but I'll get to 'em eventually. See you soon.

Hi, Mike:

Thanks for dropping by. Given my day job, it's probably not surprising that I have a lot of anthologies . Some day, I hope to figure out a way to post the tables of contents, but that'll undoubtedly take longer than entering the library itself.

Best wishes,
Larry
Have you read Lance Olsen's "Sewing Shut My Eyes"? There were a few gems, but pretty adolescent overall.

Josh
Horror fans: check out my annotated list of "must have horror" anthologies, just posted at the Horror Fiction News Network. Most of the books listed there are in my library here, but there you can get some reviews and critical discussion. -- Mike Arnzen
If you're a geek for loving LT, then I must be too! We actually started our catalog with the idea that if something ever happened to our things, we wouldn't even realize what we'd lost or needed to replace. I probably acquire another one every week or so, just from browsing, and of course since my husband and I are both in grad programs there are always required texts - Matt's theology books take up more space than my novels. The down side of having such a great selection is that when you move (like we're doing this week) you have to take them all with you. Luckily, we're just going across the parking lot to a bigger apartment this time - in part to accommodate all the books! But I like seeing who else has my books, or similar ones.
Good to see you here. Don't judge me too harshly on the stuff I have posted - there's a long way to go yet :-)
Hey there - just dropping by to see what you've got and give a friendly wave. See you in June!

Betsy
Thanks - I'm nowhere near done cataloguing my books yet, but horror has been a favorite genre of mine since I was 8 or 9, over 30 years now.
Mike, I just picked up a copy of your Delirium release of Grave Markings. Just read the intro, and I'll be getting to the slippery insides soon...looking forward to it. Cheers!
Thanks for the comment. I'll check out the site you recommended. I would have more small press titles, but since I tend to buy used I don't really tend to come across them as often.

Happy cataloging to you.
Glad to see you've found a place on LibraryThing! I've been meaning to check out 100 Jolts for a while now, since I've heard a lot of good things about it. I'll have to get that one into my next Shocklines order :)
I see we're the only ones on here who have Time Famine. Have you read any other works by Olsen?

Josh
Hi Mike,
here, on your profile page, shouldn't you have one of those logos writers on LT have? Just curious.
:-))
