Oh I've always thought it would be fun to sew costumes! Preferably for a time-period movie, but I'm not really that picky. The dresses from a few hundred years ago would be so fun to make.

Though I must agree that it is quite difficult to sew without a machine. I hope you get one again soon! I haven't tried cross-stitch, but I do some hand embroidery. I hand-embroider a stylized version of my initials into all my quilts to sign them. That's what the picture on my profile is.

I recently taught myself to knit too! But I tend to knit in the winter and sew in the other seasons. The warmth of a knitted project on my lap is comforting in the winter.

I haven't heard a New Kids on the Block song in forever until the one on your profile. :)

Ok.. yeah.. I didnt know the trip involved the staying over lol... I get antsy when it comes to that. But umm.. the 17th or the 24 either is good for me, I would rather go to KoP just because the city actually freaks me out a bit. I am a lil sheltered and do not spend much time away from my boyfriend lol.. sad, i know. But i am sure i can figure something out... maybe he can bring a friend and they can go off together for a while then come and get me.. idk we will figure something out.. haha

Glad you liked the book! I finished it in three train rides so it was a quick read, but I thought it was a well written YA novel! It's not going to be released until this summer so feel free to pass it on to anyone else that you think will enjoy it!

I bought the first book, "A Game of Thrones" last night! Yeepee! I have to finish "The Amulet of Samarkand", and I have a few more books I want to read, but I am intrigued by what you and El said yesterday, so I'm thinking I might jump it to the top of my very extensive and ever expanding TBR.

You would have died laughing yesterday, if you could have seen me at Borders. I printed out a sheet with the names of the books in the series, so that at lunch, I could pop next door and buy the books (yep, to my everlasting chagrin, I work next to a Borders. So, of course, I'm in there, like, EVERYDAY). Only, I forgot the sheet, When I got there, I couldn't remember any of the titles, nor the author's name. I had to resort to using their search engine. I was searching for things like "a Feast of crows" "a King of Thunder" "A Crown of Thunder"... lol. What an idiot. Ah, but I crack myself up.

Hi bib - Insider info... heh heh, I wish! I got the Dance With Dragons date off of Amazon which probably means it's 200% wrong. ;) I guess it's just my own wishful thinking, ever the optimist! They do have a pretty cool looking cover of it posted there though.

We would need Saturday to Sunday though of course you can come on Friday if you'd like. The wedding is in the evening on the 20th so we wouldn't expect you to stay until we got home, as the reception last until 11pm. As of now i'm planning to get to Brooklyn around 3 or so on saturday, which means leaving around 1:30 or so. Then just stay as late as you can on sunday so she has the least amount of time possible by herself, and give us a call when you'd be leaving so we know how much time she'll be alone and can judge when we should leave. Let me know as soon as possible if you can or can not do this. Thanks!

Don's dad was going to watch Pep but turns out he can't but Don and I are going to my friends wedding and as i'm in it we have to be there for rehersal and wedding which means staying in brooklyn for the night. anyway, if your avaialable i was wondering if you could come up and watch her?

I actually ducked into the chatroom at about 8-9am LT time today, because i was online laaaate and thought that i'd check if anyone goes there in the USA-morning. But not a sausage. I guess that you guys can't from work. Anyway, next time you're there of an early evening and no-one else has shown up, post me a LT message or send me an email and i'll join you if i can.

I'm also at home with a parent, though not trying to move out. My mom is so afraid I will get to NY for my trip and not come home, but I have no plans but to help care for my kid sister to her relief. Not good at making plans for myself. ;)

Oh, it is no fun to have your things in boxes and in storage! I've been there and am sorry about that. Hopefully you will not have to keep your much loved books boxed up too much longer. It's nice that you can at least keep your few movies on hand and nearby you. Good luck saving and hope you find something not just in you price range for a car and place to live, but which you will love as well!

Ah, drat! No wonder my sister laughed at me - the ipod shuffle sounds awful! I don't think I'll be getting one of those. Thanks for telling me! Yes, an audio book would be very weird on an ipod shuffle! Perhaps I'll look at mp3 players, or do those not work for audio books, either?

Thanks for joining, Biblio! I hope it works out. Maybe I can get my brother to join. He doesn't have Internet or a LT account, but this may be the incentive he needs.

Some people list their DVDs on LT and maybe I will send invites to the ones who have Arrested Development. I think it will have to wait for Monday, though. It is looking like a busy weekend and I feel I am already neglecting HE.

Bib, Thanks for the Flight of the Concords suggestion. I actually have seen the first DVD and it was okay. I never got around to the other disk. Maybe I should give it another try. Almost everyone I have met who likes AD recommends FotC. The guys were funny, especially the manager.

I should clarify that I have given up prime time network TV. I have a mail-in Blockbuster account where I get movies and shows. I also have extended basic cable. I just hate being tied down to a certain time for a show. I should get tivo, but I know I would never have the time to watch everything :)

Back to Arrested Development, my spring break just started (I am a teacher) and I keep going around yelling "Spring Break!" No one gets it :P Maybe I will go find a "Girls With Low Self Esteem" film crew, but I don't think there are many in Michigan! I have always thought about starting an Arrested Development group on LT. Do you think anyone would join? Maybe we could use it to break you sister in. HE can be intimidating!

Anyway...SPRING BREAK!

Bib! I am so excited you know Arrested Development! When you wrote Mr.F my hopes jumped, but I thought it might be to good to be true! I put out feelers to the other HEers back in the fall, but no one seemed to know the show. I still rewatch a season about every other month. I never really get tired of them. I love Evanescence, too, but you've probably guessed as much. ;)

To be truthful I was very cautious to add movies and cds. The majority of mine are not cataloged. It's strongly controversal around LT if they should be cataloged or not. When I saw some of the people I regularly talk to adding them, I felt safer to do so as well.

Ah, another person with an iPod? I still only have my pathetic MP3 player. If I find a really good deal, I may get one before I take a trip in two months. I've been thinking it would be nice to have one on the plane.

Your movies are not all in boxes? Are the sitting around loose then? ;) Several are around here. My kid sister is always leaving them out of cases on tabletops.

I wouldn't worry too much about the math scores. I don't remember my numerical score, but I was in something like the 33rd percentile for math, among those who took it at the same time I did. I'm quite hopeless at math. And hey, they still let me in!

Oh, I know what you mean! I always get so excited to see that bright yellow "You have a new comment" box at the top of my profile. ;-)

When I took the GRE, I found that the most helpful thing was to take the practice test (at that point, they sent you a CD-ROM; don't know if this has changed since I took it).

I did take one Archives elective, and enjoyed it. It was a nice change of pace from all of the Children's Lit courses that I was taking.

And I agree -- The Celery Stalks at Midnight is a hilarious title. I loved those books as a child.
