Great Laura - I'm sure you'll finish it in time. It's a short book (about 220 pages) and I guess it's quite appropriate for you right now since it's summer down under!
Hi Laura - did you manage to find/borrow a copy of the Greengage Summer by Rumer Godden? I just posted a reminder on my blog for the group read. Hope you found a copy!
Hi Laura - Ok. Hope you find a copy! They seem to be available everywhere. It's a short book, a little over 200 pages only.
Hi Laura,

I've been rather sporadic in my LT activity since August
and have much to catch up on, Miss Pym included. Thank you, by the way,
for the invite to the group and I look forward to enjoying a delightful
'Pym' fest with everyone. So much reading, too little time!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

Kind regards,
Cate
Dear fellow LTers,

I've archived some (older) comments to make way for new ones! :)

regards,

Laura
Hi, and thanks very much for the invitation. Even if I don't join for the moment I'll certainly be popping in to get some ideas as to where to start with Pym.

Rachel
Hi Laura, thanks for the invitation - I've only read Excellent Women so far, so I'm very interested to hear about her other works.
Thanks,
Pencils
Just wanted to say thanks for the invite to the Pym fan club! She is one of my all time favorites. Looking forward to the chat and connecting with other fans.

Thank you for the invitation to the Pym group! I'm looking forward to learning more about this wonderful writer and her works.

Gina
Thanks for the invite to the Pym Club! I've accepted and look forward to reading more from her.
Jennifer
Hi Laura,
Thanks for reminding me about the Pym Fan Club group, which I went over and joined posthaste! I'm surprised that I never added it to my groups before.
Best regards,
Maggie
Hello, thankyou for the Pym invite (my first invitation on LT!)
I see you've added a Cazalet - I found the first 2 on a book stall, read them in a day and a half and had to buy the rest. Very addictive, very engaging, good books. If you read her autobiography you find out where she got all the characters!
GG
Hi Laura,

I don't know why I didn't add you to friends long ago, we have so much readingness in common. I always rejoice when I see new posts on your thread :)

Cheers,
Rena
Hi Laura--Thanks for inviting me to the Barbara Pym group. I'm going over to join now! See you there.

Deborah
Hi Laura,
Thanks for commenting on my blog. Bill Granger is great! I love his simple recipes. I see you have a book by him that I don't have. Must check that out....
Hi Laura! Thanks for the interesting library add and the invitation to the Pym group. I've only started one of her books and actually did not finish because it was so boring *hangs head in shame* I've joined the group though — you can all teach me how to mend my ways! :)
Thanks for the invite, I love Barbara Pym's books!
Laura;
Thank you so much for the invitation to become a member of the Barbara Pym fan club. I don't believe I have been in a fan club since I was a teenager. This should be fun. Not nearly enough books though. I wish she had about two dozen more out there awaiting us.
Thanx again,
belva
Thanks so much for the invitation! She certainly deserves a fan club!
Laura! LOL!! You made my night with that 'small apology'! LOL!!

Actually it was terrible on Wednesday; one of my work colleagues is an asthmatic and she had three attacks that morning. Luckily she was at work and we work in a hospital (heh) and we could sort her out, poor thing. It was very hard to breathe for everyone, and very irritating, so I can't imagine how bad it was for asthma-sufferers. But it was a truly amazing experience; I have never seen anything like it in Sydney before! It was the most eerie red morning light...I have to take my car for a wash tomorrow, it looks like I have been out driving in the bush, or in a dust storm, (eh) - the car washes have been so busy for days. There was a milder dust storm again this morning, much milder thank goodness. What I worry about is: what has happened to the the land where all the dust got stripped off?

How are you? I have been drooling over all your cookery books you have been adding; and I always find your listings very interesting (try not to look too hard as my TBR is out-of-control) ~:)

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Maisie Dobbs much... I am sure they made her cut it into two shorter books, and add in bits, which is why it was so fragmented - IMHO. The second one seems to fill in the missing parts, I enjoyed that one more...I haven't read any others, so I don't know what the next one is like.

I hope you are well; nice to hear from you,
~Lyn
Thanks for inviting me, Laura! How did you know I have a couple of Pyms on my TBR pile for this year?!

Christine
Thanks for the invitation!
Hey, Laura, thanks for the invite!

Stasia
Thanks for inviting me to join the Barbara Pym group. I've just left some comments.
Hi Digifish,

We must be of a similar age as I also watched the Clangers when very young in the early 70s. The name Soupdragon also appealed because of the combination of the domestic and the fantastic.

I enjoyed reading your 75 book thread. Lots of interesting sounding books and I noticed with the ones I have read that your comments were similar to my own thoughts, so I will follow your recommendations with confidence!
