Om mitt bibliotek A personal library is such an intimate thing, isn't it? You can know more about me from seeing which books I collect than you might glean from an hour of conversation. If I'm interested in it, it's here: the children's and young adult lit that you might expect from an incipient children's librarian, as well as all of the other stuff -- random paperbacks of various classics, slightly more impressive copies of the Little, Brown & Company editions of Louisa May Alcott's works from the early 1900's, fantasy, theatre books, mysteries, Shakespeare, Eastern Orthodoxy, a few cookbooks, "Calvin and Hobbes". . .

Thanks, foggi!!! Yay, new everything! School, and work, and... Well, that's enough! LoL
Foggi, looking forward to meeting you in Lexington!! Looks like our reading tastes coincide.

Best, Cinda Williams Chima
Wow, I must say your review of Breaking Dawn was really, really well-written. I certainly don't agree on most of your points, but wow. It definitely stood out against the other reviews. Unbelievable, superb. A pleasure to read.Thank you for posting such a great review. -CoalPaw
Hey! So I just saw that you have an additional catalog for your 2008 reads. Do you keep a separate one for each year or just update the 08 one? I've thought about keeping a separate catalog on here for the same reasons you said you did (on an HE thread). So far I haven't though.

And have you really read 127 books so far this year, or is it a combination of past years too?

Thanks in advance! :)
What do you think the possibility of LT getting a couple of those books for Early Readers is? ;) Dang, it comes out after my birthday, and I want Tales of Beedle the Bard for Christmas...
Hi foggi! I thought I would let you know I found a good home for the puppy. They are a local family with college age kids and two English Setters. The wife has always wanted a Scottie and they all just love her. I just became to overwhelmed and like I feared, Gregor wasn't taking it well. Everyone is better off now. Someday after Gregor goes I may try again, but first I will get flooring in my kitchen that isn't carpet! Good luck with your carpet removal and thanks again for listening to me!
I'll re-join HE when I've finished reading deathly hallows. I'm just starting Order of Pheonix so it'll be another week or so. Thanks for thinking of me though!
Thanks! We are, but K has abandoned me for the delights of JP's house, can I blame her?

Hope you have a nice week, dear. I still haven't ventured to the threads, I'm so scared!
Hey foggi! Thanks for talking puppies with me last night. It helped a lot to have someone to talk to. I am going to wait for now. I don't think it would be good for Gregor and I know my schedule wouldn't be good for a puppy. I am going to sign up on a scottie rescue program. An older dog would be a much better option. Thanks again for your help! -Compski
Really? Who knew? *points at sillily high number of recommendations*
Waves back and HUGS!!!
I saw your mutual recommendations for The wizard, the witch, and two girls from Jersey by Lisa Papademetriou and The Tough Guide to Fantasyland by Diana Wynne Jones

Good choices! :)
I left a comment on your blog foggi. I'm so glad you were ready to write. I know how hard it is. It took me about 4 months and wads of tissues to write about our kitten.

I think I would have lived a very different life without the pets I've had and the lessons they've taught me.

Peace and Laughter,
Cristina
Thanks for the info... loved the pictures.. all our HE friends are lovely!!!
Hey foggi wondering about the flickr account.... I would love to see the pictures!

Flikr account? There is one? :)

(I don't have anything to contribute at this point, I just don't want to miss anything!)
With the risk of contracting "Broken Record Syndrome" - what Flikr account? ;)
Sweet, thanks, foggi. I love that you posted the pic of Kerian & me.
Hi foggi! per msg 2 in 'HEers in NYC'...What flikr account? Thanks! ;)
Hi foggi, might I please have the password to the flckr account?
What flikr account? ;-)

Hi, Foggidawn. Looks like we have a lot of favorite authors in common! Glad you enjoyed Wizard Heir. The good news is, they've moved up the release of Dragon Heir to August 12 from September. You can read the first chapter on my Website.

Thanks again! Cinda Williams Chima
I'd love to be friends, foggi! :)
Few, that's a relief. I'll concentrate more on my analogies then. I know how to do them, but still tend to pick the wrong one. Then I look at the answer and think "duh!"

I'm probably going to go to Drexel. I live near Philly and they have an online program so I could split it and do some online courses and some classroom. They also have a program where you can take archiving electives through Temple. I'm really excited. Here's a concern though...I'm too late to get in for this fall, should I try for Spring, or wait till next fall (when I'll be 30!)
I've been doing a lot of practicing for the GRE. How important do you think the math scores are for Library Science? I'm just curious. It's not that I'm doing badly at them, I seem to average about a 650, but it's not my strong suit and I'm not sure about the time restraints with that one. I know you're not in admissions, but having just completed your studies, I figured you should at least have a pretty good idea of how much math I'm going to need.

Blah, blah, blah. Wow that was boring. Sorry, I'll try to be more interesting in the future!
Ooooo, I'm studying for the GRE because I want to get my MLS, although I'm hoping to do a tract that will let me take some archiving electives. We have a lot of the same books though. My library's only half done because most of my books are still in boxes from the move, so I did my list from memory. I know I have more.

P.S. The Celery Stalks at Midnight is my mom's favorite title for a book ever, I loved those books!
Thanks! Don't think I'm too pathetic, but I was really excited to get a comment from someone that wasn't about Early Reader's or from one of my sisters! I really enjoy the HE, to the point where I almost never check on any of my other groups. It's so great to have other people who understand my obsessions (books in general, HP in particular) and don't judge me for it.

Here's to a continued enjoyment of intelligent (and not) conversation on the HE!
I saw Kerian's post mentioning you were away for an interview. I am holding good thoughts and keeping my fingers crossed for you. I'm sure you'll do well.
Hi Foggi, I was just still thinking about you and wondering how you are doing. I hope you are well but I know it is hard.
Hi foggi. I'm so sorry about your dog. *hugs*
Foggi, K told me your baby was very very sick. As a dog-mom, I know how terrible you feel right now. I am so very sorry, dear foggi :( we are all hurting for you *hug*

love,

suge
I'm so sorry foggi. I'll be thinking of you and your sweet dog today.
Thinking of you and sending many hugs your way.
Hi foggiedawn--I left you a recommendation on the recommend a book thread for the wrong title! (oops) I meant to recommend [The Perilous Gard] by Elizabeth Marie Pope, but listed her other book instead. Both are fun, but [The Perilous Gard] is the better book.
