Om mig I am one of those people whose handle is her actual name. Go figure.

My nerdy plan in honor of my 25th birthday: create a poster (or large photomosaic) of all the books I've read in the two decades of my life. This means I must scan in book covers for my manual-entry obscure religious readings. Good times.

Om mitt bibliotek I used to be indiscriminate about what fiction I read and finicky about my non-fiction, but now, the opposite is the case.

As a broke young adult, I mainly head towards the amazing University of California Library (UCI tag) system for my books. I had purchased an Alumni Association membership merely, or at least mostly, for the library privileges. I spent most of my Freshman year of college (in which I took only 12 units) holed up in Langson, and I look back upon that time with inordinate fondness. Before that, I spent countless evenings at the local branch of the Orange County Public Libraries (hence my OCPL tag).

i suppose evolutionary biology is an enigma spanning the centuries! :)
"Guernica" has been mailed, enjoy.

Beth
You offered a copy of Love Marriage up for grabs on the ER chat page a couple of weeks ago. I am interested in reading it. Is it still available?
I'd be happy to send you Guernica. I'll mail it next week.

Hi, thanks for the message on my profile. I understand why you might think we've taken some classes together at UCI... but it's not likely, since the classes I took at UCI were graduate courses. (I was taking grad classes and teaching writing at UCI last year, but haven't been doing that since last fall.) Depending on your major, you might've been in a writing class I taught, I suppose...

You're an English major? or a double major, I guess?
The cheesy 90s edition in my case, I'm sure...
Hi!!!

I loved the books you've picked out for me!!! Sadly because of school I can't read what I want, but once I can, i'll sink myself back into the world of arthur and his knights!! Thanks a lot!! :)
I've been asked that by pretty much everyone who's ever had to lift one of my suitcases for a longer trip. And they all think they're the first one to say it and are being clever. I just sigh and move on now.
welcome to our group. If you have anything you want to post about travelling, or anything related feel free. Your collection seems interesting, I have about 80 books in common with you and none of them are manga which is rare for me. But good as I might get some recommendations out of it^_^

Hey there,

I read your account of being a "heretic" in a orthodox Muslim family with great interest. I believe it was over at the Happy Heathens Group. I maintain a website at http://www.lifeloveandliberty.com/, and one of the writings I have in the works is about the dynamics of the biological family. It criticizes the notion of having a moral obligation to regard the biological family, as the end all and be all of existence.

Anyhow, you seem like an interesting person, and it would be great to see your comments on my blog posts.

All the best,

Venus
Thank you for the link! I need to ask Santa for that one.
heina, the link you posted to my profile isn't working. I'm intrigued. I think if you post it again, but put spaces before and after the url, it will work.
Yeah, I was going to congratulate you on your library and your favorite authors. Burmese Days is a good point of contact, although I can't for the life of me understand why you'd have Burn Rate. I've never read it, and it's my "thing" starting web companies. Hey, you aren't going to be cataloging books in Hindi or Urdu are you? We're going to be getting some libraries that would help that.
I have a suggestion re the 50 book challenge group. People keep asking me where to get the word counting meter I use - I suggest adding a link to the website in the group description, since people don't realize that you can just click on the meter to get there. It's http://www.zokutou.co.uk/wordmeter/ . Thank you :)
Actually, the book is my son's. He is a student a UCI and must have taken the course - I don't know what professor. Do others teach the course?
am i doing this rite
hello, this is that one girl that you met once in quiz bowl practice. this is one spiffing site, no?
Hi heina; check my catalog under the Arthurian tag...you might see some titles of interest. HNY! A
