The Size of Your Heart

It isn't the size of your house as such
That matters so much at all.
It's the gentle hand and its loving touch
That make it great or small.

The friends who come and the hour they
Who out of your house depart
Will judge it not by the style you show
But rather by the size of your heart.

It isn't the size of your head so much.
It isn't the wealth you found
That will make you happy -- it's how you touch
The lives that are all around.

For making money is not hard;
To live life well is an art.
How people love you, how they regard,
Is all in the size of your heart.

Do you know of any good romance Civil War novels? I've read a few that I've really enjoyed and this time period fascinates me!
Great information about Gettysburg, Jessica ~ thanks so much for taking the time to put it together for me. As soon as I know if and when I'll be able to go, I know I will have more questions. I'm more excited about this trip than my first trip to Hawaii! :)
Hi, Jessica ~ Thanks for your friends invitation. "The Killer Angels" certain whet my appetite for good Civil War literature, as well as a sharp desire to see the battlefield. It must be amazing to live there! I hope to visit sometime this year, possibly in April or May. My daughter's going to be performing in Lancaster through the end of May, and I'm hoping to combine the two visits. Perhaps you can give me some tips on where to stay, the best times to visit, etc. I'd appreciate it!

I'm looking forward to reading "Shades of Gray" soon. Historical fiction/romance are two of my favorite genres, and "Shades of Gray" sounds really good!
I'd be delighted for you to link to my Historical Novels website. Glad you like it!
It must be my Civil War post that drew you to me! And welcome to LT, I just started, as you may have read, in July. It's a neat place and anything, within reason, goes.

I have found a few friends and lots of books - some that I forgot I had read and some I want to now read - some of yours look interesting! (More for my TBR list - that'll never ever empty.)
Thanks for the friend invitation. Shades of Gray has an intereting premise - I remember being intrigued by it when I added the listing to my Historical Novels website.
