man, gone from LT all day and i missed my chance for glory! thanks for the heads up. at the very least, purple checks are one of the most requested improvements, so perhaps we're on our way.

she does, in fact, rule the roost. and in two days time she will rule a whole new Coop! we finished it this evening but i have to go do actual work at an actual business tomorrow, so Thursday is the big day!

i'm thinking they will have their own blog, but i'm not sure yet. i might just have to index them differently on the same blog. Amelia (the bird narrator) might insist that it's her job to keep people informed of all the goings-on here. she's mighty strong-willed, that one. (if you've ever read the Amelia Peabody mystery series, you know how she got her name.)

thanks for the compliments on the birds blog. i'll tell them you liked it.

that snow was a huge headache for about 2 days. it doesn't show up so clearly on my light background so i experimented with just about every theme WordPress offers... none of them looked right. so i decided i would just change the CSS code to a darker background for myself. turns out you have to pay them $15 just to change that tiny little piddly bit of code. it was very frustrating.

so, snow on white background it remains!

you've saved me! it's 'umbo.' i was looking under the 1980s on imdb.com and never saw 'who's the boss'--i know nothing about danza. never watched tv in the 80s and the only thing i watched in the early 90's was xena and x-files. :)

i say 'pish'. didn't you just read me saying 'pish?' goodness. i think the spring cicadas have addled your senses. ;)

i shall look for your message. i haven't really visited the site yet but shall.

do you think i should add another hint on crambo!? i picked a difficult word. probably shouldn't have chosen it but i've been longing to use it somewhere.

i don't know yet how long one should wait on crambo!, if one has picked a particularly tricky word, before giving hints. thoughts?

oh pish. that's not icky at all. remarkable shots. your cicadas look just like ours. i simply dote on them. great bulge-eyed creatures that seem to do no harm and provide a great source of protein. i didn't like them when i first moved to Tennessee and now i find them fascinating and rather endearing.

i expect they'll survive climate change just fine and i'm glad! :)

keep sending 'em on. i've joined DPS hoping to learn something i can use to improve my admittedly lackluster efforts.

gorgeous, jj. an amazing shot. can't believe how clear it is in the middle of what appears to be quite vigorous bouncing about. 'strornry. i've never seen a magpie, more's the pity. i was out today trying to take hdr shots without a tripod, as usual. tarsome not to be able to use one but there it is. i have fun trying anyhow. :)

the tortoise is amazing, especially the work with the vegetation. that's a lot of selecting and masking, or whatever you used. i also really like the nest-building shot. the water ripples are gorgeous and the gum tree is wonderful. thanks for sending me your link. more, more. :)

the first and last ones on this page are two of my faves from recent days. i'm trying to do some HDR photos, too.

it's not subtle really. or wasn't meant to be. i just figured it was like a Hansel and Gretel thing where you follow the bread crumbs or whatever.

i been all involved trying to get our Unitarian church e-list restarted and i haven't a clue what i'm doing so i've been having to learn. and do some moderating and stuff. interesting but time consuming.

and messing about with photographs. and day-to-day stuff.

you cook anything interesting lately? are you putting up small batches of seasonal foods? what's seasonal in Oz, anyway?

if you Google the Collins plus two destinies plus any part of the quote, you'll find, for example,:

i guess in trying not to make it too easy and to give you a chance to use Google, i made it too diffy. i always check to be sure that what i put in the hint can be found via Google by running the hint myself.

I believe you either have far more space than I do, or are just pickier. I could easily add 1000 books to my library per year if I didn't get rid of some in the process. :)

You made me laugh out loud.

I've only barely been out of the country (southern Canada, Bahamas, and Neuevo Lorado, Mexico - we walked in from Texas), and there were never any bullets.

I grew up and still live in Nebraska, the Land of the Bland.

I guess raising a girl through the teenage years wasn't totally boring, but she was (and is) a good kid, so I didn't experience all the drama I might have.

But in books - ah, there I have excelled! And I seem to find the most interesting friends. Especially the ones who have dodged bullets and come in from the cold!

you won't regret adding bbb&b to your list. i'm just dipping into the large print edition here and there to play the game while i wait for the audio to arrive. the first bit i read, about mrs. richardson, made me laugh so hard i was draped all over the coffee table whooping and gasping and i nearly collapsed onto the floor.

she's right up there with the luggage as a fave character, i'll tell you. if i'd met her before i joined LT, i'd have used 'mrs. richardson' as my handle.

hope you cooked happily this weekend and didn't have to iron too much.
