Om mitt bibliotek

Like everything else in life, I have eclectic tastes in books.

Sometimes I remember to add books to my library. Often I don't.

I used to devour several books a week. Graduate school makes it nearly impossible to read for pleasure these days.

Sometimes I become obsessed with an author and read everything they've ever written (even the bad stuff).

I like to re-read books. Every time I do so and discover something new or can relate to it in a different way, I get excited.

If I can't get into a book or just don't like it, I always come back to it at a later date in case it's just something I'm not in the mood for.

Sometimes books I hated at one point in my life become my favorites later on.

I still turn to some of my favorite childhood books for comfort.

I want a simple life: One composed of t-shirts and jeans, friends, family, books, music, art and love.

I want to watch the sun rise from the porch swing while sipping hot tea from big mugs.

I want life to be full of friends and family and learning and languages and artistic expression: Bookshelves spilling great works into piles on the floor, musical instruments and art supplies within an arm's reach, home projects, good food, stimulating conversation and plenty of engaging activity.

I want music to always be playing in the background, the sound of laughter filling the air, tons of plants radiating their natural beauty, snapshots of memories filling the walls.

I want to see the world and travel but as an engaged participant not just another privileged tourist.

I want to do meaningful work I love which does more than just bring home a paycheck.

I want to leave the house and have the world see me as the beautiful person I am without worrying about how I look.

I want to teach and be taught, enjoy and be enjoyed, listen and be listened to, love and be loved.
