Om mig English teacher in the Midwest. I love to read mysteries and especially POLICE PROCEDURALS. I seem to need the driving plots I find there to maintain interest.

Based on our common likes, I wouldn't hesitate recommending Greg Iles nor Laura Lippman.I love Gerald Seymour but he writes more about terrorism than police procedurals.

Thanks for your reply i will definately give both of them a try,i'm always on the lookout for new authors. Currently working my way through Jonathan Kellerman and Giles Blunt.

I agree with you about Robert b Parker ,they don't last long but are great fun.

Have you tried Jeffrey Deaver?

Have you tried any British police thrillers,here are some of my favourites:

Graham Hurley, Ian Rankin, Peter Robinson, Mark Billingham.

We seem to like the same American authors ,so you might like the above.

I haven't tried Lawrence Block,who is he most like?

ps. Just thought of 2 others : David Hewson [ set in Rome ] and Robert Wilson [ set in Seville ].
