I received two lovely books the past two days, thank you so much, they are perfect! I love icons, so the Mary one is great and I'm super excited about the Fr. James Martin one as I've love the other books he has written. Thank you!
Tim Egan is local and you might be able to catch him at a book event sometime. He just finished promoting [The Big Burn: Teddy Roosevelt and the Fire that Saved America]. Looks like an interesting and fun book. Glad you liked the gift. Happy Holidays.
Hello. I noticed that you have a copy of my memoir Beyond the Tears: A True Survivor's Story. I have just joined Library Thing, and I am making my way around. I added my author profile. Thank you for your interest. Lynn
Thanks Lisa.
Noticed that you liked The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). I thought you might like my novel since it's been compared to that novel by a number of reviewers. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

radical santa gift arrived in perfect time. you guys rock. blessings to you and yours.
Hi!

I’m sending this note because you are a member of the Seattleites group.

A few of us are starting a book club and I hope that you will consider joining us.

Our first book is In the Woods by Tana French. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, October 2nd, at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park at 7pm.

See our thread called Book Clubs? on the Seattleites group or you can reply to me if you want more info.

Thanks - Carol
Thanks for your comment on my novel "A Thousand Veils" and for including me in your list of interesting libraries.

Because of this group and one of my brilliant ideas, I decided to start doing book reviews for the local newspaper. Now I am doing book reviews for several places and it is growing.

I try to read 2 to 3 books per week. Do not have time to read books that are not good, and once when I read about someone who was doing reviews saying that they had 50 books on the shelf waiting to be read, I laughed to myself and could not fathom that. Well, I do not have 50, but I do have about 25 or so. Letting them out to friends is a good idea, so I do that with a few select people. All that I asked them to do is let me know if it is a good read and if it is, I will read it when I get it back, which is usually in 2 or 3 days of giving it.

If the book is a bad read, I do not review it, no matter where it came from. I really try, but there are some that are so bad, I wonder what someone was thinking when it was published.

I can understand the locals who self publish and pay through vanity press companies coming up with awful books, but when a company does it? Well, that leaves me mystified.

Enough rambling, I have to get back to work! I have chosen "Capote in Kansas" as my next book and will read it today and tomorrow. I think that it is about ghosts!

Regards,

Clark
I applaud you for the review on 2012! You were far braver than I in getting beyond the 1st half of the book. I gave up. It was terrible writing and should be put on the shelf with some others or given to the Salvation Army for help. Definitely a non-starter, too bad, it had some good advance hype, but did not live up to it. Your review was good! I voted for it!
Eh, you've always gotta ask, right? Not really, but...

Happy birthday anyhow!
You're welcome for your SantaThing gift! I'm glad that you got it, since I was a little late with my choice =).

Hey - any chance you both attended Brown? If so, I know you!
Thank you for the SantaThing books! :D They look excellent. I've been thinking about picking these books up for a long time, actually, and have never gotten around to it. I'm looking forward to starting the first one... probably in the next couple of days.

Thank you again, and Happy New Year!

I just saw your Veganomicon review. I've been dying to receive my preordered copy, but it will probably be another 2-3 weeks. It's nice to know it's even more wonderful than I'd anticipated (if that's possible).
Hi! Thank you for joining the A Pearl of Wisdom and Enlightenment. You got quite an appealing library too.

Cheers,

Jose
Sorry about that - I found out there is already a vegetarian and vegans group, just you can't find it using terms such as 'vegan' and 'vegetarian' in the search field! Do you want me to invite you?
The ending was pretty unrealistic, but I probably would not have been satisfied with it ending any other way, so it was ok. Oh my goodness! I'm so excited for the TV series. That's really dumb about Erik though! Seriously, what the heck?! Haha, but it will still be really cool!
Yeah, I prefer Gossip Girl over the It-Girl books. What did you think of the ending of the last GG book?
How did you like the 4th It-Girl book? Do you read Gossip Girl too?
I saw that we share an interest in boxing. I thought you might get a kick out of my book Virgin Gloves. It's unlike any boxing book you've ever read, I can guarantee it. It's viewable at Suburban Fiction.com
Hello again, it's really nice to see someone else who shares the mantra books! I read these while I was in Baghdad for four months. It was a welcome balance to the energy state over there. I spent nearly all of my free thinking time on mantras and journaling and walking the land, praying for peace. Be well, Cora

Wow! 121 page library! Just checking out who else has Ramakrishna and his disciples by Christopher Isherwood in their library. We have 43 matches.
21 crossroads, nice. Be well you two...Cora
