Om migI live in northern Minnesota, in a small house full of books, movies and CDs. My family is learning how to live sustainably IE: grow our own food, build our house out of organic materials (wood and COB), and live a great deal the way our ancestors lived with a few modern-day improvements.

Om mitt bibliotekI own a great many books from the 'animal craze' of my youth (Heartland, Dolphin Diaries, etc.), and many of them get a higher rating then they normally would for nostagia. I also own a fair bit of historical fiction, and many, many classics. And I own a great deal of fantasy, and also have collected gothic novels (as in the romantic suspense variety of the sixties and seventies).

The Ballad of Lucy Whipple was quite a good book as I am trying to remember I read it for battle of the books in fifth grade which was some time ago. really only 3 and a half years ago. um lets see she is out on the prairie and it is her diary I think I really have no idea what it was about because I have read some boks in the same setting since then. And they are always getting mixed up.

Yes I did love Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry it is one of my favorite books and it is nice to have variety.

Hi nymith,
Thanks for replying. I was dissapointed that warriors wasn't up and running...
I have read some of the new series, up to Outcast, which I think is the newest one. I have really liked them so far, but I am really annoyed with the whole Tigerstar thing, too.
Now that I think about it, it would be interesting if Erin Hunter wrote from the other clan's perspective. In the Power of Three she does switch between the three main characters...that makes it more interesting because it's not just one character throughout the whole book.
I have always gotten warriors from the library, so if there is a library near you I suggest getting them there so if you don't like the new series then you haven't wasted any money.

Welcome back! I enjoyed talking to you and reading your reviews and will look forward to hearing about what you are currently reading.

Life has a way of creating large bumps. Boy, have I found out the truth of that in the last few years. But slowly I'm learning that the hardest places in life are those where you experience the most personal growth and the real you shows through.

BTW, I'm not sure if you've ever checked out the Early Reviewer group here and the free books they offer, but I've been lucky enough to get a couple of them and it's a lot of fun.

Thanks for your further comments. Your writing is wonderful! I hope you are keeping a journal. What seems very ordinary to you in your lifestyle could be very fascinating to others. It's been quite a few years since I subscribed to Mother Earth News but I remember the column they used to have--stories from people who were out and doing it--and they paid very well! Perhaps one day your story could turn you into a LibraryThing author.
