I'm so glad you liked [The Adoration of Jenna Fox]. It is one of the top books I've read thus far in 2009.

It is very complex and thought provoking.

And, I note you are currently reading A Conneticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. Twain is one of the best American writers that existed.

Hi;
Mark and I have been discussing the possibility of another group read in November and want your input. We have narrowed it down to two books at this point. "The People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks and "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield. So chat it up with friends or us and let us know if you are up for it and what you think. Probably the same plan as with "Pillars of the Earth" which seemed to work out perfectly for almost all of us.
Think it over and give one of us a shout.

Hi Sher,

I finally got around to ordering the ION TTUSB05 USB Turntable last month as a gift for my father, as Amazon was selling it for $80. I used it to record my favorite childhood album and one of my parents' favorite albums, "The King and I" by the Mastersounds (1957), which has been out of print since its release. My father's copy of the album practically has holes in it from us playing it so much, and it's probably been at least 35 years since he last played it. We listened to it together on Thursday, and it brought back such fond memories that we were all misty eyed. I can't thank you enough for recommending the turntable!

BTW, as luck would have it, El Records in the UK will be releasing this recording as a twofer CD, along with another Mastersounds album, "Kismet", which has also been unavailable since its 1958 release. The Mastersounds was a quartet similar to the MJQ (Modern Jazz Quartet), but "Kismet" also features the legendary jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery, the brother of two of the members of the Mastersounds. Amazon has this CD available for pre-order, as well.

Hi and thank you for adding me. I find many of your books interesting as well. I actually found Sybil listed in your collection. I had forgotten I read that book sometime back. I'm still scratching my brain trying to remember all the books I have read in my life - it helps when I see other people's list. Probably impossible to recall them all, but it is sure fun trying. The holocaust books I've listed are only a fraction that I've read. If I remember any more I'll be adding them in the future.
I've added you to my favorites list also. I'll enjoy watching your list grow.

Thanks for posting, profilerSR. Yes, I would agree that when it comes to disaster books I have a pretty darn complete list. I might be missing some on natural disasters and wartime disasters, but when it comes to technology and human-error disasters, I am the queen of the books!
