Om migI'm a writer (the China Bayles mysteries, The Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter, Robin Paige mysteries), reader, book addict.

Om mitt bibliotekMy library reflects my passions. Research materials for the three mystery series, current reading interests, recent past interests. Finding shelf space is a constant challenge. I'm very slow in updating this list, so what's here is only a fraction of what I have. Maybe someday I'll get around to reading everything!

You may never read this note, but I just had to write and tell you that I stumbled across your book Together Alone and I absolutely loved it. Being a native Texan I understand how you can love and be connected to a place. In fact, I got started and continued to read your China Bayles series because it made me feel so "at home". I recognized the feel of many of the places in the books and it made it easy to relate to the characters.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for writing such a wonderful book and also for the many hours of pleasure I have received from reading your other three series (yes, I have read most of them if not all.) *smiling all the way to the bookstore*

"The Predator State" is so fascinating I have to get and read it immediately! Not only are you a wonderful writer, but a wonderful reader as well! Thanks for everything.

Hi Susan- I've been reading the China Bayles series since the beginning and you never disappoint. In fact, I just re-read parts of "Indigo Dying" for the sheer beauty of certain passages. Good job. -- Janet
Hi Susan
I have been reading your books and collecting them for some time now. I like the idea of the herb theme. My daughters and one neighbor all share them with me. I'm not even sure what my favorite one is. I love herbs, even though I have no sense of smell... Ah, what I've missed! I've never seen your series "Robin Paige mysteries", are they older? Congratulations on your writing successes.
Susan,
I lived on a farm which had originally been the home of the Sodus NY Shaker Community, and it was impossible to live in those rooms and not develop a love of herbs, gardening, and the beautiful folk art for which the Shaker are so well-known. We hosted several Shaker Festivals and sponsored motorcoach tours of the farm, and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to have learned about the history of the Shakers. As I move to South Padre Island, I hope I will be able to find a few herbs that will grow on our sandbar, because I don't think I can imagine life without their pungent and calming scent and I am looking forward to bringing a little Shaker art to south Texas. Susan,

I love your Beatrix Potter mysteries. I have always been fascinated with her life and have read several biographies. I've been encouraging my high school students (I'm a librarian) to choose her as a topic for research but so far no takers.
Hi Susan....greetings from New Brunswick Canada. I have been a fan of your books and look forward to every new one! I am a retired high school English teacher with a passion for books and my gardens!!! My husband, who is a hockey coach, spends the winter at the rinks so I have lots of time to curl up with good books! Isn't LibraryThing fun....I have meet many interesting people and really enjoyed "exploring" their libraries.
Susan,

I am a man and just wanted you to know I really have enjoyed all your China Bayles mysteries.

In fact, I just got a copy of your first Robin Paige mystery as well.

I also get your newsletter to keep track of what you and China and Ruby are up to. :)
Greetings! I am the newly retired director of the Plainfield Public Library where (you might recall) you visited us one evening and thoroughly entertained a group of loyal fans at one of our library programs. We rate your visit as one of the most delightful programs we've had. You obviously enjoy meeting your public. Recently I bought China Bayle's Book of Days because I had been checking it out of the library so much. The library staff gently broke it to me that I needed to let someone else have a crack at checking it out.....

I've just discovered this site and I find it fascinating!!
Susan, It sure is a lot of fun isn't it? I had no idea how many books that I had, and how many duplicates! I have now got most of my books entered, so I just need to get covers scanned and entered. For some reason one of your books, I don't remember now which one, doesn't come up with the cover that I have, so I will have to scan that one in. Oh well, have a good time, and have a great spring!!
Susan, Welcome!! I was just scanning the fun statistics on my page, and ran across your name. I have all of your books, in fact, your name is the largest on my author cloud! You probably don't remember, but I am the person that you signed the stacks of books for when you were visiting Indiana a few years ago. Are you planning a trip back this way this summer? Let me know, I am sure that the herb society would love to see you again.
