Om mig Reader & Collector.
Long term goal is to collect all of Richard Laymon's books in some form or another, partially because it is a challenge, partially because collecting all of Stephen King's works in their various forms is near impossible and would cost a bloody fortune.
Short term goal is to find a few other authors that write good horror or suspense and have a catalogue of books to pick from - new authors are always good, but I am impatient regarding books and when I actually find an author I like, I do not want to wait years to read another book by them.

Om mitt bibliotek I love horror and thrillers. As a child I read Stephen King and Dean Koontz with a little Nancy Drew to mix it up. I also love funny, subversive, ironic fiction. I generally don't care for anything that Oprah has picked, too dry, too literary. That's not to say I like total junk, I have some standards, (won't read Danielle Steele, John Grisham, James Patterson (used to be good but is no longer), Tom Clancy, Michael Crichton). I like zombies, serial killers, the end of the world, and characters who kick ass (Lee Child's Jack Reacher is a god, Repairman Jack, Rachel Morgan and Anita Blake are pretty cool too).

I loved your review for Breaking Dawn. I was truly worried that Stephenie would ruin the ending for me, the way JK Rowling ruined Harry Potter (in my eyes.) I'm glad she decided to keep her characters true to themselves. When it comes to Stephenie's writing, I, too, await any new works. And I can't wait until her companion to the Twilight Saga comes out at the end of December!
Hi Tammy, I like the way you think. Got a good giggle out of the Oprah comment. I see we share some books in common. It's good to know I'm not alone. Sometimes I feel a freak for not jumping on the Oprah bandwagon. Reading the comment left by jseger I have to strongly agree with those recommendations. Adding to it Nicholson's - They Hunger & Little's - The Store. Superb works of horror.

...I've also got a deep interest in zombie horror, (some might call it an issue *lol*) but I haven't read much in that particular category. Got any recommendations?

~Lisa
I didn't have time to go through your whole library to refine my recommendations, but authors with a catalogue of horror that I would suggest (and a good 'starter book' from that author): Bentley Little (The Ignored, The Association), Peter Straub (Ghost Story, Mr. X), Scott Nicholson (The Red Church), Sarah Pinborough (Breeding Ground), Tim Lebbon (Berserk), Michael Laimo (Deep in the Darkness), Simon Clark (Vampyrrhic), Douglas Clegg (You Come When I Call You) and Anthony Izzo (Cruel Winter)
