https://www.librarything.com/work/book/192558301

* Series not shown at top of page, despite being correct near the bottom
* 3 members listed
* Canonical title is good

Clicking on Main Page takes you to https://www.librarything.com/work/20963746/summary/192558301 where

* Series is correct at top and bottom
* Only 2 members listed
* Canonical title is missing

Clicking on series link takes you to https://www.librarything.com/nseries/70049/Thea-Stilton-Graphic-Novels where

* I do not have an "in collection" checkmark beside it, despite the previous pages both showing I do have it in a collection
* Title is bad

I've tried removing + re-adding both for my collection and the series but it doesn't help.

Correct work URL is https://www.librarything.com/work/20963746

Removing and re-adding will only confuse matters.

To expand on what >2 MarthaJeanne: said, there are two different links for books.

One is the specific book in your library. This is your specific book. It has all the information AS YOU ENTERED IT. This will not include Series, as that is a work level item, but it should still show, so that does fit as bug. Also of interest, the series name really should NOT be part of the canonical title, because a lot of people will remove it. IF it is on your personal copy that's fine. But site wide canonical title is for the entire work and as such will be edited. If you want to edit your personal copy, you want to click on the pencil.

The second link is the work level. This is the link that was given in >2 MarthaJeanne: where it was the entire gathered number of works. Searching the system, is shows three members have the book, but only two copies exist. It's possible that, because you deleted and reloaded the book, the numbers have not caught up yet. It's still sitting in the cache for the work level page. This might be the same with the series check marks.

Let it sit for 24 hours, see if things catch up. If they don't, the admin will be back on Monday to investigate the glitch.

This sounds like another case of https://www.librarything.com/topic/305973 - the title doesn't really describe the problem, but the issue is that the book doesn't seem to be properly linked in to the work.

The number of members on the book page https://www.librarything.com/work/book/192558301 should match the number of members on the work page https://www.librarything.com/work/20963746. If you look at the members page for the work https://www.librarything.com/work/20963746/members it doesn't list damnnicks.

Unfortunately, as r.orrison pointed out, this looks to be one of the cases in which you can't do anything to add your book to the main work. The site will not give you checkmarks for having the book. Your book and any future additions of the work to LibraryThing are unlikely to come up in site search results.

There are hundreds of books in this situation. The last I saw, the site owner insisted this is somehow a feature, not a bug, so possibly the only thing we can do is wait until he changes his view.

I love being misrepresented.

This bug is now fixed. It may crop up briefly in the future, but it should resolve within 24-48h if it ever does.

>6 timspalding: I dislike how a bug that broke trust in the site as it hid and misrepresented work data, regularly confused members, and required extra work on a few volunteers was dismissed as a non-existent issue for almost two years.

Anyway, I saw at the main bug report that the bug was finally acknowledged and resolved. Thank you for that.
