This page documents some tips on searching WikiThing (this wiki) for content - not LibraryThing.
A wiki, such as this one is organised in namespaces. Most of the content is stored in the mainspace named "(main)" which will be searched by default when you use the search box on the right-hand side of any page.
Once you've run a search, you'll see a list of checkboxes at the bottom of the page, these are the namespaces you can search. Tick those you want to use, and click the search button to refresh the results. A summary of the namespaces available is provided below:
The "... talk" namespaces aren't listed below - they're basically namespaces to hold the conversations which might be attached to any of the other pages in the Wiki - this is in no way connected to or related to the LibraryThing groups/talk feature.
- (Main) - most of the wiki content is held here
- User - user pages, LibraryThing members use this namespace for a variety of purposes and may store extra information about the organisation of their library, tags or tips on using LibraryThing
- WikiThing - reserved for administrative purposes, you won't find much here
- Image - images uploaded and stored in the Wiki
- MediaWiki - reserved for administrative purposes, contains some help/documentation regarding the wiki software
- Template - content templates used on this Wiki
- Help - stores pages such as this one you're reading right now
- Category - any page on the Wiki can belong to one or more categories, this namespace stores the information pages for those categories, and act as a form of index to the pages within a category
- LTFL - pages regarding LibraryThing for Libraries
- HelpThing - this is a new namespace, its aim is to provide help pages for the features of LibraryThing which may in the future be linked to from the respective pages on the site
