Synonymous with Dublin biscuit making is the name of W&R Jacob. This, the first history of the enterprise, traces the origin of the Jacob family in Ireland, the foundation and development of the firm, and its expansion overseas. The Dublin factory's dramatic involvement in the 1913 lock-out is recounted, as is its pivotal role in the 1916 Rising in material never before published.
