Get Dressed! teaches children the names of different types of clothing and accessories and what to wear in certain situations (i.e. when it is cold or when playing make-believe). Through its whimsical illustrations of children dressed in sometimes out-of-the-ordinary ways, it also encourages children to have their own styles and to be creative in their clothing choices. This book would work well for teaching children ages two-five about different pieces of clothing and what to wear throughout the day while doing certain activities. Each set of pages in the book has a repetition of the phrase, “get dressed to…” and a fold-out page that includes drawings of different pieces of clothing and accessories that one could wear for each listed activity. Underneath each fold-out page is a colored drawing of a child wearing the specific clothing and accessories that are pictured. The front cover of the book is designed like a suit with the two sides of the suit magnetized together. Although children are sure to love the book’s interactive elements (the magnetized suit and fold-out pages), libraries may want to err on the side of caution when stocking this book because of the potential of these pieces getting damaged, swallowed, or wedged in unconventional sites. Getting dress is a daily activity that everyone needs to learn and sometimes for children it get difficult or they don’t know how to get dress for special occasion or season. This book teach different ways to get dress not just following a modern style but at the same time teaching children what you need to wear for the different climate offered for the our seasons.
