This delightful picture book tells the story of a frog who makes a wish and sees it come true. Some of the themes include friendship, hope, wishing, and dreaming. I think that this story can help encourage children to never stop believing in their dreams and hopes. The illustrations are great! This book is on a second grade reading level.

Jubal's Wish is a good story for young readers about a small frog and he wished for all of his friends to be happy. He asked a wizard for their happiness and at first things got worse, but then his wish ended up coming true! It's a great story to encourage hopes, dreams, and wishes.

In this book, Jubal Bullfrog is very happy on a glorious sunny day. He has a picnic packed and leaps around town to find someone to share it with. Jubal goes to Gerdy Toad's cottage to visit her and her seven toadlets. Jubal invites them on a picnic, but Gerdy Toad is too busy working and cleaning so Jubal goes on to find another friend. When he comes upon Captain Dalbert Lizard on his sailboat, he does not want to join him on his picnic either because he is not in the mood. Captain Dalbert Lizard says that his happy days are over because no one wants to sail with him anymore. Jubal wonders if he should become unhappy too since he can not find anyone to enjoy a picnic with him, but the fresh grass and sweet flowers smelt so good. Jubal closes his eyes and wishes there was something he could do to make his friends as happy as he was on this pretty day. A wizard then asks Jubal to make a wish and Jubal is not sure if it will come true, but he wishes for Gerdy Toad's housework to be done and Captain Dalbert Lizard to get his adventures back. Jubal's wish does not come true right away, instead he goes through troubles and gets caught in a bad storm. Gerdy Toad's cottage floats away in the storm and they all end up on Captain Dalbert Lizard's sailboat with Gerdy Toad and the seven toadlets on board as a fine crew. ( )

I like this book as well. The pictures displayed emotions very well. The story line was very inspirational and encouraging. When the frog thought it was a great day and wanted to go on a picnic, his friends did not and so he got depressed. Then his friends came to his rescue when he got swept away from the flood and they ate their picnic lunch after all. This book also supports that to never give up; your dreams and wishes will come true.
