The woman that private investigator/mom/vampire, Samantha Moon, lost her husband to, comes to Sam when a more current boyfriend talks in his sleep, and she’s scared. He’s a werewolf and talked about a killing room where he takes victims he’s kidnapped to eat during a full moon. When checking with the local police, yes, an unusually high number of hikers have gone missing.

Things on the more personal and home front kick up gears and it appears that Sam hits rock bottom with who and what she is; at least until Fang comes over to make her see things differently. I’d expect this new attitude to carry forward and perhaps Sam can stop putting herself down all the time.

And one of the scariest of all introduces himself to Sam, yet we’re left with not knowing how much of a threat this person will be to Sam.

Interesting story with constant growth and reveals through the books. ( )

Received an ARC for an honest review. I love Samantha Moon and very much enjoyed her latest adventure. It was great to see a bit of the renewal of the friendship between Samantha and Fang. His advice to her is great and needed! I also enjoyed the newest character to Ms. Moon's world. I very much look forward to more of him in future installments. The book did feel a little bit disjointed and short. If there were some more flow and space to achieve it I think it would have been better. Still a great book from J.R. Rain. Bring on the next one!
