Loading... The Power of Intentionav Wayne W. Dyer
There is no doubt that this is an amazing book. Dr. Dyer has showcased this on Public Television and I never miss those shows even when they are replaying twice a day. I often watch both plays. What he says is always very inspiring and presented in such a tranquil and sharing format. My husband brought this home to me today and I already know it will be enthralliing, helpful, and read again and again.

Not as thorough as the book, but the personal aspect of seeing and hearing the author present his material makes this a good addition to any DVD collection for self-improvement. This is a spin-off from an NPR fundraiser that has been running for several years. I also have the book and the card set. Each little gem of wisdom in Dyer's teaching leads to a gentler life that can be lived more effectively in these hard economic times (2008). I recommend all of his work. This book is quite deep and sometimes takes a bit of RE-reading to grasp some of the concepts. It has a powerful message tho and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. These cards have the gems of wisdom from the book, making it easy for the reader to put one in a conspicuous place and change the thought of the day. This deck allows the reader to take spiritual growth beyond the program, book, or video into your own life. Very good book which tells us how our thinking effect our lives! I am almost ashamed to admit it, but Wayne Dyer's "The Power of Intention" which led me to his "Inspiration" really resonates with me, but, really, despite his rep as the Father of the Self-Help Movement, he's certainly much deeper than Dr. Phil, not saying much, I know, but if you let him lead you to his sources such as Castaneda (a surprise) and Kazantzakis (he referred to the novel "St. Francis" which led me to rewatch "Last Temptation of Christ" and then to finally read that novel too). Kazantzakis is really mystical and spiritual. Old, old soul, gone from here now for awhile. I also was inspired to check out Taylor Caldwell's "Great Lion of God"--about Paul, yes that tight ass who also wrote oh so movingly about love. Dyer also affirms my current devotion to meditation. Letting go and letting your God is the Way! So much to read, so little time. I enjoyed this book it has alot of good information and quotations. This was also part of a PBS series. I've been a big fan of Dr. Dyer for a long time. His description of the field of intention and how we benefit from aligning ourselves with it includes religious traditions. I thought the tips at the end of each chapter were very useful. I just wish there had been a bibliography. I found myself wanting to read the many other books Dyer discusses. |
