Like Butter on Pancakes takes us through a day in a little boys life. Two of his favorite things are waking up in the morning and pancakes. Every morning when he wakes up, he eats pancakes for breakfast and then goes outside to play with the animals on the farm. Finally, his parents call him in for dinner and then in tucked in bed to go to sleep until he wakes up again in the morning and do it all over again. This is an easy read for young kids and Jonathan London uses poetic rhythm throughout the story. ( )

Like Butter on Pancakes reminds me of When the Fireflies Come with its poetic rhythm and traces of Onomatopoeia. Like Butter on Pancakes is about a child that enjoys waking to morning sunshine, pancakes, and bacon. Jonathan London takes us through the child’s day and the things he enjoys on the farm until his day comes to a close. He lays in bed looking forward to the next day. ( )

Kid friendly book about a boy that loves the morning and evening light. Good read but a Little boring. ( )

This book is about a little boy who wakes up in the morning and eats pancakes. Then he plays outside all day and comes in for dinner. He gets ready for bed and drifts off to sleep to start a new day all over again.
