The book provides enough action and mountaineering exploits to keep you engaged. I am a mountaineer and ice climber and read quite a few of these types of books. One thing the book did was paint a very negative profile of the author as being self serving and selfish. For someone who did as much travelling as he did I suppose a personality like that is part of the profile. It just seemed to be a big part of the book as though he was desperately trying to explain his point of view to the reader or most likely his wife and family. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

Good book since it doesn't only show what he climbed (and even that in a highly detached, even unimaginative style lacking captivating details) but why he needed to climb.
Other biographical sections would better have been left out!
