A great follow up to NAKED IN DEATH! Not as good and I guessed who the killer was somewhat early on, but still a wonderful read. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in Eve and Roarke's story - and interested to know what she says in response to his question at the end!!! ( )

Of the early books, this one isn't as high on my list. As another reviewer has noted, Eve comes a bit strong in the first part of the book. I understand being afraid of a relationship, especially considering her background, but I thought the whole afraid to commit to a relationship with Roarke thing was over the top.

I've found this to be a recurring problem with Robb. Perhaps it is her romance novel background. Overall though, her characters are outstanding and I want to get to know more about them. ( )

Book Two of J.D. Robb's In Death Series is just as cleaver as book one in grabbing your attention and keeping it hooked. Lieutenant Eve Dallas hunts a killer that is taking out successful and prominently powerful women with a vicious slash across the throat. Eve's relationship with Roarke continues to develop, and her professional relationship with her Commander is put to the test when the first victim happens to be a close personal friend of his family. Eve must do what she does best, defend the dead, in order to bring the killer to justice.

I don't recommend starting this book unless you have the next two or three books in the series available to read when you finish this one. Enjoy. ( )

The second book in J.D. Robb's "...IN DEATH" series, following NAKED IN DEATH, is another winner. The thing I love the most about this series, besides the awesome, fully-developed characters, is the fact that the mystery is ALWAYS thrilling and realistic.

This time around, popular, well-known, outspoken women are being murdered - their throats viciously slashed. As Eve works to discover the true killer, she also finds family secrets, devious reporters, and new friends in strange places.

GLORY IN DEATH features the first appearance of Peabody, a larger role for Nadine Furst, and the first glimpse into what Eve's childhood really entailed.

I'm absolutely LOVING rediscovering my favorite romantic suspense series of all time!! ( )
