( ) The Love Hypothesis is a cute contemporary romance about a relationship of convenience. I stayed up very late to finish this book, so I definitely enjoyed reading it. I liked the main characters and the growth of their relationship together, even though the heroine was sometimes annoying and kept things from the hero. I also think that the ending was somewhat rushed and didn't have the oomph that I would have liked. At least there was an epilogue. Second read through and I still love it. I love how silly but memorable their meetings are and how they slowly build up to something real and precious. The puns kept me laughing when I wasn't crying or melting. The side characters are amazing too. I love reading about women succeeding in male fields and how they deal with the insecure and sexist assholes. Remember, "Carry yourself with the confidence of a mediocre white man" lol. Overall I really liked this book, but the smut-sequence in the last quarter just wasn't it. It didn't fit the vibe of the book at all and felt really unnecessary in my opinion. But I loved the two main characters and their dynamic so much. It was a pleasant read until that one scene and then it was fabulous again afterwards. I also would've wanted for Ahn to appear again in the last chapter, since she was the reason this all happened in the first place, so I kind of missed her there a little. Still really enjoyable and fluffy. ;) inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

"When a fake relationship between scientists meets the irresistible force of attraction, it throws one woman's carefully calculated theories on love into chaos. As a third-year Ph.D. candidate, Olive Smith doesn't believe in lasting romantic relationships--but her best friend does, and that's what got her into this situation. Convincing Anh that Olive is dating and well on her way to a happily ever after was always going to take more than hand-wavy Jedi mind tricks: Scientists require proof. So, like any self-respecting biologist, Olive panics and kisses the first man she sees. That man is none other than Adam Carlsen, a young hotshot professor--and well-known ass. Which is why Olive is positively floored when Stanford's reigning lab tyrant agrees to keep her charade a secret and be her fake boyfriend. But when a big science conference goes haywire, putting Olive's career on the Bunsen burner, Adam surprises her again with his unyielding support and even more unyielding...six-pack abs. Suddenly their little experiment feels dangerously close to combustion. And Olive discovers that the only thing more complicated than a hypothesis on love is putting her own heart under the microscope"-- Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |
