OK, but couldn't quite follow who the bad guys were (cops) and why the good guys (cops) were after them as it kept getting confused with the other bad guy plot (Bekker, serial killer). Very confusing.

Beckett, the serial killer from Eyes of Prey, escapes justice and lands in NY, continuing his serial killer modus operandi of putting out his victims eyes. The murders become more gruesome, and Davenport is called in to track Beckett down for a second time. Really well done. Even creepier than the previous book. ( )

Bekker ha vuelto. Varios cadáveres que llevan su sello particular, cuerpos sometidos a todo tipo de mutilaciones. Mientras, desde las páginas de algunos periódicos, arrecian los delirantes artículos del propio Bekker empeñado en demostrar a la comunidad científica que es posible llegar a comprender el misterio de la muerte. Pero aquellos no son los únicos asesinatos con los que tiene que vérselas la policía de Manhattan pues, a ellos, se les suma otra serie de muertes perpetradas por un no menos enfermizo Robin Hood decidido a limpiar la ciudad de indeseables.

Richard Ferrone's deep gravelly rendition of John Sandford's Lucas Davenport series has been unforgettable. I pick up the series every few years and this is the year. I started with the only one available Silent Prey. Sandford knows how to create a villain. I started listening and couldn't put it down. I think I finished in two days. I immediately popped in the next one--which was Eyes of Prey. But that comes before. Hmm. It will be an interesting review. ( )
