Small World by Tabitha King Wife of Stephen King #169, I do have Small World on my teetering TBR pile (actually I culled that pile recently and have it to a manageable point where I should be done in 2 years). I think I should spread out the Lodge books to savour them; will see how my willpower holds out! #171, I do love that English cynical ... ...
Don't know enough about the P.F. myself to say. I recently had a brief refresher on the Grail story in David Lodge's Small World, which is why it came to mind. ... Murr@48,
Can you suggest a decent collection of Hazlitt pieces? My attention has been drawn to him because he features in Small World, by John Lodge, the novel I read during my recent trip.
(((This post copied to the new essays thread))) I would also add Small World by David Lodge to the list. About A Boy by Nick Hornby
Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie
Small World by David Lodge
A Kid for Two Farthings by Wolf Mankowitz
We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver I will have to think about whether or not I'll read another. I didn't mind Small World but the end was anti-climactic and come think about it, so was the beginning. I think I just talked myself out of trying another! "It's the best thing, really."
Small World by Tabitha King
"Is there something you wanted me to do first?" ... and Mrs. Douglas, beginning with "Call me Dolly, darling," did most of the talking, and a lot of the wine drinking.
Small World by Tabitha King (wrong touchstone)
From behind his newspaper, I thought I heard Babe's last customer grunt in assent.
Pushing Up Daisies by Ros ... Has anyone read Tabitha King? I am reading Small World and it's a good book. Started out slow but it is picking up. Sorry, I thought The Lovely Bones was stupid. I thought the end was stupid.
I am almost finished with Small World by Tabitha King (touchstone is wrong) and am getting still reading Pushing Up Daisies by Rosemary Harris and Cross Bones by Kathy Reichs. I'm in the middle of Cross Bones by Kathy Reichs, The Somnambulist by Jonathan Barnes and Small World by Tabitha King. I'm in a lull. I can't seem to get in the reading mode. I have been stuggling to finish these 3 for several weeks! I'm in the middle of Cross Bones by Kathy Reichs, The Somnambulist by Jonathan Barnes and Small World by Tabitha King. I'm in a lull. I can't seem to get in the reading mode. I have been stuggling to finish these 3 for several weeks! "For Christ's sake, Lucy. Dolly and I were finished years ago."
Small World by Tabitha King (wrong touchstone)
"Are you sure you never slept with a woman you didn't like?" 37.Small World by Tabitha King (Touchstone isn't working)
38.Four Dark Nights by Bentley Little (Didn't finish, Really didn't like it) King Lear and A Thousand Acres
#7 (Yeah, it was me--love Small World).
Which Henry James novel is it that is supposed to be echoed in Atonement?
I haven't read Kipling's Kim, but I've heard it makes a good pariing with The Impressionist.
