love lynn Kurland's work esp. the time travel. Sometimes the book was a little drawn out but in the end its all good. loved it! ( )

The back of the book has a quote - Ms Kurland know how to deliver a heartwarming romance and remarkable charachters. I have to totally agree and for me, she is my favorite romance author. And I have read a lot of romances.

With Every Breath is set, as her other romances, within the same set of perameters of her time-traveling Scotland and charachters from previous books. So, really, the premise is really just a variation of her many books. What keeps me coming back is her feel good charachters and the sweet romance. And this is coming from someone who owns more erotica and romantica that a person aught. It is her writing that I enjoy so much.

In this latest addition to her Scotland romances we have Sunshine, sister to Madelyn who is married to Patrick MacLeod (another time-traveling medieval Scot) who knows about the hot spots through out the land that will take you back in time. Her threshhold is not one of them on the map but a Scot from the 1300's comes to her door to get her to help with an injured man and when she walks thru it she is back in time.

Of course, the path to tru love is not quite smooth and flowery and there is much heart wrenching pain in the interm. And, admittingly, I wanted to reach thru the pages and shake Sunny when she first encountered Cam back in modern times. Just say something! Ask some questions! Talk to your MacLeod brothers! - - I kept telling the book. It seems that they were kept apart - or at least Sunny was kept in pain longer than was necessary.

Sunshine and Cameron's story made me cry and smile and I anjoyed the entire ride. ( )

Every time I read a book by Lynn Kurland, I'm reminded of why she's an author on my auto-buy list. Most of her stories fall in the 'time travel' genre and I just can't get enough of her MacLeod/de Piaget stories. She makes these stories seem plausible and probable...and that's no mean feat.

Sunny is a great heroine. She's the MacLeod's witch and her herbal remedies are well-received by her family and neighbors, especially since many of those neighbors come from a time when the only medicine available was herb-based! Then comes a knock on her door. She's faced with a gorgeous Scot who she quickly realizes is NOT from this century. With a pull from his hand she's yanked over her doorstep and back in time.

I want a Cam of my own. He's strong, yet can be so very gentle with Sunny. Even when she cannot save his brother, he's still determined to protect her even at the cost of his own life. Although at first he thinks she's daft with her tales of time travel, it's not long before he begins to believe...and when they are surrounded by enemies, he has a tough choice to make.

I laughed, I cried, I didn't figure out 'the bad guy' til the very end. I found myself wanting to knock Cam into next week and then throw Sunny in his bed myself!! Now I have no choice but to reread the earlier books in this series while I wait for the next one to come out. ( )

I adore A Garden in the Rain, it's my favorite LK book, so I was excited to see Sunny's story and picked it up immediately. The thing is, this book is incredibly forced, inorganic and illogical, from the time Sunny spends in 1375 to the way she loses her money (explained in one paragraph in chapter 21--a total cop-out that sounds absolutely ridiculous), her virginity at age 33 (and boy is THAT trope getting old), and her complete and utter meltdown when "losing" the hero after knowing him for 2 weeks. What keeps them apart is Sunny being an idiot, basically. She has no fortitude and absolutely no desire to stand on her own once she meets Cameron (who is completely inoffensive and pleasant despite hints that he's got a surly overcoat. I like him well enough but he's not nearly developed at some of LK's other heroes). It's incredibly disappointing because in AGitR Sunny's a rock for Madalyn and she doesn't take anything from anyone. So contemporary women, listen up! It's okay to be a strong independent woman if you don't have a man, but be sure to save yourself for him when you do find him, and then become a slobbering mess of emotion so he knows how much you need him to survive. I've never been more disappointed in a book, because I wanted to love it and just couldn't. ( )

“One of romance’s finest writers” (OAKLAND PRESS) does it again.

When medieval laird Robert Cameron pounds on Sunny Phillips’s door, he isn’t paying a social call. He’s braved a trip onto enemy soil to fetch the MacLeod witch, a crone renowned for her healing powers. But the woman who opens her door to him is enchanting and young... and not from his century.
