He seems so tough, but it's not until the Exile duology that we understand why he has such a 'Stoneheart.' This book begins in the reign of Sendar and follows the career of a military Captain of Karse, Alberich, who has the ability to Foresee, an ability that is anathema to the priests of Karse. When discovered and denounced Alberich escapes and ends up in Valdemar where he must make a new life without violating his Honor and the vows he made to his god. I read this straight thru and enjoyed it. hailelib | Jun 14, 2009 | This is one of my favorite, if not my favorite set within the Valdemar series. Albrich is a character I always wanted to know more about! I only wish I had more than the two books to read about him!
