Logos Library Not a book you can read in a traditional sense, but a must have tool for any NT student's library. 1971 An essential companion to the New Testament in Greek. Venerable textual scholar Bruce Metzger's almost line-by-line commentary on the variation in the ancient manuscripts of the New Testament in Greek. (These variations appear in the running footnotes of scholarly Greek New Testaments.) (Ancient books were copied by hand and often developed regional 'families' as certain local versions became traditional -- comparing every copy of a book would have required impossible travel and expense. Even the most careful scribes corrected what they saw as theological, grammatical, and spelling errors in their texts ... often moving the text away from original readings. (With the exception of Luke the Gospel authors did not write the best Greek.)) A helpful companion to the New Testament in Greek. -Kushana This is a necessary tool for the serious student of Koine Greek. Textual variants are important considerations in translating the Bible for yourself or for seminary papers or publication. Boring to just read (there is no plot, heh heh), it is indispensable as a research tool. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
