This is one of those books that infuriates me: the writing isn't great, the plot's full of holes, and yet it's so compelling once you let yourself get drawn into it that I read it in a single night. (I feel the same way about Stephanie Meyers.) ( )When we heard that Goodkind was going to be writing a new book not related to the Sword of Truth world, we were excited but apprehensive. Turns out we didn’t even need to be: The Law of Nines is related to the Sword of Truth story. I am not disappointed by the book but I feel that it was miscategorized by being called “fiction – thriller”. There was a large element of fantasy once the main female character was introduced, despite being set in the present of our world. Because you suspend belief with a fantasy novel, you don’t get the same reaction as a pure thriller. Overall the book was entertaining and enjoyable and you don’t need to have read the Sword of Truth series to follow. Read my full review here: http://www.monniblog.com/2009/11/the-... Good, but not his best work. SOT fans will like it simply because it gives you just a taste more of the story and characters you love so much, but overall I think the ending was slightly lacking. Terry Goodkind's first book after the "Sword of Truth" series. First off for anyone who really liked and read all of the Sword of Truth you should pick this up. You'll like it for all the connections to the series which are pretty cool and I don't think have ever been done before. Spoiler ahead, ...................................................................................................................................................................beware if you like the Sword of Truth you may not want read this.................................................................... If you remember at the end of Confessor Richard separated the people without magic and who did not want to live with magic, well the story takes place in that world. There are no spells being cast or sword fights, but the world that we live in today and the world of the Sword of Truth character are brought together.......................and you might just see a Lord Rahl. If this is your first Terry Goodkind book don't worry it's not necessary to have read any of his other books. Alex is the main character who is worried because he is starting to feel like people are watching him through mirrors. Which is what landed his mother in the crazy house. There is good action in this book with some violent gruesome outcomes. You can check out a scene from the book at www.terrygoodkind.com inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
