There are a lot of books about opposites, but it can be hard to find one that has the right ratio of text to pictures and doesn't take itself too seriously. I prefer the opposite concepts to be simple and familiar when I'm sharing the book with very young children. Just grasping the concept of "opposite" can be challenging enough without introducing unusual examples to illustrate it. This book really delivers on all those aspects. I will be adding this to my storytime repertoire.

Being that I enjoy photography, I love how this author used photographs of everyday surroundings and found numbers in their shapes. From 1-10 and back to 1, the pictures take the reader on a colorful counting journey. My son enjoyed the 4 in the flamingo legs. He loves flamingoes when we visit the zoo. I was able to take this books inspiration and go on a "number walk" with my son where we challenged ourselves to find numbers in nature. A number walk would be a great counting activity for prek-2 without ever leaving school property!… (mer)

Lulu goes to piano lessons and is supposed to practice her playing at home. She never wants to practice and decides to do other stuff instead.

This book is just numbers and pictures. I feel this would be great for visual learners and also those who are in special education and can benefit from it. It is very simple and great for those who need pictures with numbers. It is much more than counting but more of visual symbols. Any grade that is struggling with numbers.
