The way this book relates humans and animals is adorable. Each page with a child mirroring and animal on the opposite side was great. My students enjoyed picking an animal to imitate. The illustrations were colorful and eye catching. Overall great read.

In this book, children discover they are more similar to animals than they think. They close their eyes and pretend to be all sorts of animals. For example, they pretend to be turtles, monkeys, ducks, etc.

This book shows children all the different ways their body can move and all the things they can do with it. They learn all the things they can do with their legs, arms, ears, and other body parts.

One of my favorite types of books to read are informational books. This book describes different endangered species around the world and different suggestions on what needs to be done in order for the species to thrive. This book has 17 different animals that are endangered. I enjoyed the set up of each section that focused on a different animal. For each animal, the author wrote some interesting facts about the creature in order to draw you in. For example, when discussing the spoon-billed sandpiper, the author starts off the discussion with, “What would it be like to have a mouth shaped like a spoon?” This gets the reader critically thinking and then intrigued as to why they were asked that question. Along with the set up of each section, there is a “note-book” page on the bottom that states how many animals are left of that species, where the animal comes from, what caused these animals to become endangered, and what people can do to help save the species as a whole. Another aspect of why I enjoyed this book was towards the end of the book, there is a number line from 1-100 that names the world’s 100 most threatened species. This includes information about other animals that were not covered in the sections of the book. Also towards the end of the book, a glossary can be found explaining different terms used in the book such as primates, feral, poachers, pesticides, etc. The main idea of this book is to inform people about which animals need help repopulating and what we can do to help save a species… (mer)
