Book Title:
The title of the book ' Pralay - The Great Deluge ' is interesting and sounds like just the right sequel.

Book Cover :
The book cover is a modern art in which the sky is bleeding, the holy cross thrown down and the helpless warrior standing. The word Pralay - which means devastation can be seen all the three mentioned objects.

Plot:
Right from the cover of the previous book 'Harappa' where the story unfolds a relation between Banaras city and Paris with Harappa which is ancient, the concept of last devta, the protagonist's journey throughout the many sequences made it an exciting and a definite page turner.

"Pralay" is the sequel of 'Harappa' and the story starts from 1700 BC to 325 AD, The council of Nicaea and back to Banaras. This timeline journey is what stands as an highlight. The exceptional writing skills of the author has the ability to get the reader stuck to the story and with every turn of the page, a new twist is gifted. There are several parallel stories running in the story that are inspired by some known stories and conspiracies of the world and human life, the excitement to read the next chapter takes the priority.

Surprisingly, few stories also talk about the social issues that the countries around the world are still facing since ages. The efforts that the author has put in coordinating several things into one story is to be appreciated.

What I liked in the book:
The plot, the narration, the characters and the swift journey between ages.

What I dint like in the book:
More no.of parallel stories, a little haphazard way of relating the story sequences and few places where the story looks dragging.

Characters:
Every character in the story is beautifully written and given importance. If this series of books are made into a movie or web series, it would really top the TRP ratings!

Narration:
A very proficient and fantastic narration.

Language and Vocabulary:
The language, grammar and vocabulary is very fine.

My Final Verdict—
A good sequel.

Publishing Date: 10 Jun 2017
Printed Price: INR 200
ISBN-10: 9352685482
ISBN-13: 978-9352685486

Book Title:
The title of the book ' Harappa - Curse of the blood river ' is a very interesting title and suggests the reader that the book might be about a story setup in history.

Book Cover :
The book cover is a also a quite interesting one. Two places intertwined on a single image shows there's much brewing in the story.

Plot:
There are books with good plots that are based upon the story about past, history and the present times. For a book reader, always a historical fiction appeals the mind. Such is the case with this book.

The story from a place where the ancient civilization started till a place where generally people in India believe to rest their lives in, is very interesting. The concept of a the almighty or the supreme power or simple God is very well sculpted. The plot travels from one to place to another and the reader might be well taken aback at certain spots in the plot.

Two stories running in parallel without any flaw is the best point in this book. The author has shown a well balanced approach in handling the plot very efficiently giving a very less scope for the reader to be confused.

The chosen plot is a very fantastic one, that is built across different eras and the well balanced story line makes a reader ride through a good ride of different events.

Characters:
All the characters are very well placed, scripted and plotted.

Narration:
The narration in third person is so very good and gripping

Language and Vocabulary:
The language, grammar and vocabulary is very nice.

My Final Verdict—
A wonderful, thrilling and an interesting story. Every reader must wait for its second part and yes..it's worth the wait !!

Since the author has declared this one as purely fictional, I did not put much thought into the historical / mythological accuracy of this novel. So, it is a fast-moving novel with a gripping plot presented in short chapters that help maintain the pace. The storyline is intriguing as it builds up a conspiracy theory of epic proportions, though not as convincingly as I would have liked. The action sequences have been narrated quite engagingly, not unlike the screenplay of a Bollywood potboiler. The writing, in trying to build the tension at the end of every paragraph, gets a bit tiring as it progresses. And, the 'Introduction' provided at the start of the novel is totally unnecessary, as it spoils the reading experience.
I am glad that I started reading it after all three books of the series have been released as the story is left hanging at the end of this volume. Though it seems like a run-of-the-mill myth-fiction, I enjoyed it, and am planning on reading the rest of the series.

Pralay picks up from the cliffhanger ending of its predecessor, Harappa. It is set in the same mould as the previous one – short chapters, fast action, lively descriptions and a growing conspiracy. Pralay is neither better nor worse than Harappa, and all things I have mentioned in the review of the latter hold true for the former too. It ends again in the same manner, making it mandatory to read the, hopefully, final volume in the series – which I intend to do next.
