Richard Baron

Richard Baron was the former owner and publisher of Dial Press. The list of authors he knew and worked with included Norman Mailer, James Baldwin, E. L. Doctorow, Thomas Berger, Elizabeth Bowen and many more. After leaving Dial, he later created Richard W. Baron Publishing Company. Richard Warren visa mer Baron was born in 1923. He attended the University of North Carolina. During World War II, he was a lieutenant in the Army Infantry. Near the end of the war, he was a POW. He discusses his experiences in his memoir, Raid!: The Untold Story of Patton's Secret Mission. He retired from publishing in 1980. Richard Baron died at his home in New York City on May 9, 2021.
