I used this book for a month-long trip to California in June 2008. During our trip, we went to San Francisco, Corte Madera (Muir Woods), Yountville (Napa), Sacramento, Yosemite National Park, San Jose, Santa Monica/Hermosa Beach, San Diego, Pasadena, and Anaheim (Disneyland). The book was pretty great as far as recommendations go; I used it for hotels and restaurants. The only time the book was disappointing was in its review of Napa Rose at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. The restaurant was horrible: the service was terrible and the chefs didn't seem to know what a real tasting menu was supposed to be like. (This restaurant was the highest rated restaurant in the Disneyland section with a rave review.) There was no Napa there; it was a wilted rose. Everything else we tried was on target.… (mer)
