Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo -- Nov 2011 LTER i Reviews of Early Reviewers Books (januari 2012)

Recensioner

This is a moving factual depiction that begins in 2008, taking 4 year swathes from the lives of a few members of Mumbai’s Annawadi slums, portraying an intricate study of the effect that scarcity and poverty has on the lives of those living, and particularly those born, into it. We see into not just everyday existence, but also into the corrupt infrastructures of law and economy at the time.

Boo deserves an academy award for writing this non fiction book as if it were a novel.
